Chip light turns off?

when playing with my xbox my chip iindicator goes off and then when i restart my xbox it goes back to the regular xbox and will not let me in the X3 chip backup games window. so i would end up waiting for a couple of hours to and then when i turn it on the chip comes back to normal. is this normal? because it is really annoying is it because the chip gets hot?

Check your soldering..re-do it.
If u have poor solder joints as the Xbox warms up the heat causes joints to expand...
if they are bad to start with ...they probably just make when cold but once warm they r no longer good.
