Chip not turning off

Ok, i installed an x3, pinheader install, on my mates 1.1 xbox, first time we booted up, it FRAGGED, so w went back, and lifted the trace off the D0, bugger, anyhoo after a bit of careful soldering, i fixed that, boots up fine, the chip seems to function perfectly, exept one small problem...

when we try to boot up, with the chip turned off (power button held down for >1 second) the xbox beeps loudly ( oddly enough, the beeper is in the hard drive :shock: ) and the light flashes red, then the xbox turns its self off.

any ideas?

Is there any con to soldering besides of the increased difficulty and risk?

Really now? There is no reason for solderless options vs. soldering ones?

LT Switch:
Pros: Cheap, Allows multiple dumps
Cons: Need soldering skills

CK3 Probe V2:
Pros: Flash multiple drives, No soldering
Cons: More expensive
