Im in need of help with my crystal XBOX (Samsung Memory and Phillips DVD) and X3,

Ive read all over and cant find a straight answer.

So heres my problem, when i boot the Xbox with 1 sec press (Chip off) it works, the MS bios loads, the RED X is lit and the 2 LEDS on the CHIP board are lit so alls fine there.

When i quick press (Chip on), the xbox switches on and off 3 times and the X is still RED, the two leds on the Chip board are lit, the Xbow leds are flashing red green.

It wont let me do the backup mode (purple X (backup) )
Ive resolded many times, im and electronic engineer, and had the multimeter on it, im using the LPC rebulider PCB thing, and ive tested all point back to a track pad and all are fine, i get continuity between 5 pins

GND, GND, 3.3v 3.3v and RST is this correct. there are no shorts and everything has been checked.

Any help would be appreciated guys

Cheers

you probably have a 1.6b xbox with samsung ram, its very very rare but possible, or you didnt connect the 5volt accessory line

and of course, i dont care how good you are, your solder could be bad, or a little splash somewhere (no offense in any of that though)

Both LEDS are lit, so 3.3 and 5v are connected.

WHy would a 1.6b make a difference from the 1.6, can someone explain why. I have read alittle about this but didnt understand the problem.

Whats the workaround.

Is there anything else it could bre, anyone else have the same problems and sorted it.

The MFG date is 2004-09-06

on = frags & only hd light lights up
backup = dosnt work

How do I find out if I have a 1.6b?

it may be possible (not sure though) but if you are using 1957 not 1959 bios..i hear 1.6b's mess up quite a bit (PAL box's only i hear) on the 1957 bios...use 1959 if you arent already..

best advice i can give..good luck.

Spoofing Help

So I have a Hitachi v46 DVD drive that I wish to put in a different console. I have the dvd key needed to spoof the Hitachi with but I do not know what the old drive was.

I got this from my NAND. "TSSTcorp DVD-ROM TS-H943A ms25 Keep"

What drive is that?

EDIT: It's a Sammy. I just have to figure out how to spoof.
