Installing 2.6ce in a ver 1.3 xbox. Soldered pin header, and d0, lan and hd wires. Programmed the chip in my 2.3 programmer. I flashed with 5035 for old mobos along with m8 on the other bank. I have even reflashed with flash 3.01 or even cromwell. All flashes work in the programmer and are verified. When I boot up the xbox with the mod chip enabled, the blue internal and all external lights are working, (bank, hd, lan, etc), but it still boots to M$oft screen. I have even customized a bios that removes flubber and changed the xbox logo, but still no matter what bank I use, mod chip on or off, I still get M$oft booting. It is like I am not grounding D0 to force to go to lpc for bios boot. I never get any fragging. I have tried 2 different mod chips (both 2.6ce) along with changing out the switch banks and other cables. I have even checked for continuity along the D0 wire by going to a point above the diagrammed D0 connection point along its trace, with the corresponding point on the mod chip pc board with the 3 wire cable attached to it. The D0 grey wire is making connection! I would appreciate any suggestions from this point.

did some searching here, and jumpered d0 now it works. grey wire works fine. Is it possible that the switch to enable/disable the chip is not working, because I have had problems with that before as well?

Possible, there have been reports of switches being flaky in the past. Make sure your plugs on the chip to switch cable are securely seated as well.

Also, 5035 isn't just for old boxes, it is 1.6 compatible. When Xecuter released this BIOS they eliminted the need to use M8 on these newer Xboxes. This was one of the great things about the 5xxx series. Xecuter again has a BIOS that works across the board.

Well, to clarify a bit... it's not the exact same BIOS for both boxes, there are two seperate versions of the 5035. One for 1.0-1.5 boxes, one for 1.6 and up. Different video support I believe. If you flash your chip, don't get any picture but also don't get a FRAG it is probably the wrong BIOS version for your box.
