Well that is why I am here, if any one mods there PS2 and something goes wrong post here or @consolerealm.com/Tech/modules/vbulletin

Here is a pic of the v12 PS2 with a DMS4 Pro chip and DVD/CD protection mod in place. I have not had the pleasure to mod one of these yet. But looks simular to modding the v1 thru v3 PS2 a b1thch:D

VERSION 12 PIC HERE

The versions 4 thru 10 are the easiest and turn out looking much nicer as my earlier pic shows.

I've put the matrix infinity onto a v12 and TBH, it was easier than the v1-11 versions. Because of the external PSU, you can easily test the unit before reassembly :)

Good to know about the v12.

Yea that is one of thing that does sucks about the v1 thru v10 is you have to put it back together to find out some thing is not right with the install.;)

...and yes version 11 for the rest of the world outside of the US/Can/Mex:)

That was my question. Personally with how small a PS2 is I would be afraid to do any soldering.

I'm not a big fan of solderless solutions.

The best way by far to join two metals for conductivity is by soldering. You avoid oxidation and other problems such as misalignment.

The difference between the Xbox and PS2 is just down to ability.

If you've never soldered in your life, you can probably get by soldering an Xbox modchip, since the majority is soldering in places that were designed for the job (LPC and d0 pad).

There's no way I'd ever recommend anyone making a PS2 chipping their first solder attempt unless you have zero interest in the result.
