ck3 mini problems

I have used this site a lot and had a lot of help in the past, anyway i previously got my dvd drive flashed by a bloke at my local computer fair,

but the thought of paying someone to do it for me when the ck3 mini and probe 3 kit was only £20 seemed a bit too much hassle.. and the way ms are releasing updates i dont fancy paying every other month for some bloke to update my drive.

so i bought the kit and got a new sata card with the correct chipset, got the jungle flasher software and i have had a few problems that if possible i would like some help with..

firstly my main problem is the ck3 mini locks up my pc when i power it on and off..

if i connect up my 360 drive, switch the ck3 mini on then power up my machine i can use jungle flasher, see my dvd drive it says "serial flash found with status 0x52" and conferms my drive is a liteon..

i then follow the on screen prompts up until it says "you must power off your drive for 5 secs then power on and press ok"

when i do this my pc locks up and i can not use it till i physicly pull the power supply out of the back of the machine

i am off to work now as i work nights, but someone must have seen this before,, or heared of this, maybe.. any help would be great..

You should get a x360usbpro. I would imagine its a problem with your SATA chipset. It will resolve virtually all flashing problems.

If you insist on not getting one try just leaving your PC for a few minutes to see if it starts responding.

I agree with DayvG. I had a similar problem a week or so ago and broke down and bought a USB Pro and didn't have an issue after that. I wrote it off as a compatibility problem with the chipset in my PC.

you need to disable raid and ahci in the system bios and make sure that the xbox drive is cinnected to the lowest numbered sata port on the motherboard. if that is all done and it doesnt work, or you paln on flashing more than 1 drive, buy a x360usb

i have followed the jungle flasher tut to the letter, and set the sata card up correctly, if the ck3 mini is not reliable why is it being sold?

i am not giving up on this unit just yet, i am going to use an external power supply and see if that resolves my issues,

if all else fails ill see if i can send it back and get the usb version

The CK3 mini isn't your issue here, that is just a power supply and nothing more.

The issue lies with your SATA configuration, you need to disable AHCI and RAID as mentioned above, it also helps to run JungleFlasher as Administrator.

Also - seeing as you don't own an X360USB Pro - make sure you have libusb0.dll in the same directory as JungleFlasher.exe.

The ck3 isn't the problem. It the chipset in your pc. The ck3 is nothing more than a power supply for the drive. It would do the same thing with any power supply used.

i highly doubt it the chipset in my pc, i have tried 2 diffrent pc's and get the same results, i have the libusb0.dll in the jungle flasher dir, i know its a power supply issue, i just dont understand why i have this issue on 2 machines,, i just dont understand why when i power on and off the mini, the computerss lock up

It's definitely not the ck3 mini. TX developed the 360pro as the sata solutions aren't reliable. I was having virtually the same issue with my via card. As soon as I used the 360pro (on the same machine with the same drive) the issues were gone. Saying that, even with the 360pro jungleflasher will stop responding for a few seconds at times. Trust us, you need a 360pro, especially for slim drives.

Edit: For arguments sake, try powering the drive with the console, will prove/disprove your ck3 mini being the problem.

You wont regret it. I spent hours messing around trying to get mine to work with my pc and failed just as you and spent minutes with my new USB Pro.

Youve already been told several times that its nothing to do with the Ck3 Mini - its your SATA

Are you not reading the answers you are been given ???

You asking poeple for the answer on your qeustion. They give it to you a few times what the problem is. And still you are not satisfied.

The answer is there.

So don't ask, and stay cocky.

It is NOT the CK3 mini.
