After seeing too many people report this error we decided to investigate further.

No matter what we couldn't reproduce the problem so i got one of the customers who had this AutoBaud error issue send his nandx and ck3 and cables back to us

The CK3 to NANDX wire was connected the wrong way around.

Huge fail and we apologize. The stocks at the factory have been checked and they are fine so it seems it was one small batch that went out. Anyone that has a faulty cable - return it for a fixed one or you can easily fix it yourself by pulling out the wires and clipping them into their correct place.

This is how the colors should be:

This is how the faulty cable was wired.....

FYI I also got the autobaud error when the HEX file wasn't selected correctly - so make sure you are pointing to the ArmV3.hex in the right place. I also get it when the baud rate is set to anything other than 9600.

Please report if any of this fixes your problem.

Wow. I just sent my nandx and my ck3i back to xconsoles along with the update cable because I wanted to cover all bases. Will address this with them as far as cost. So much for the PEBKAC answer I've been reading about.:rolleyes2:

Lets be fair though, most of the time it is PEBKAC :p and all cables in our stocks were fine so thats why we asked for others to send to us. At least we worked to address it :p

It's cool. Just wish I hadn't sent off all my stuff this morning out of frustration with trying to get this situated. Believe me the pros far outweigh the cons in my dealings with TX products.;)

I'm still getting the autobaud error. I believe the wires are correct and I believe my ck3 pro is not the rev d. Just for a confirmation, am I correct?

i dont think your wires are right. they are they way mine were.
btw im still getting the autobaud error as well. glad i ordered a new one updated to v3. it shipped today. Thank you XConsoles!
i looked at the wires on the update cable from the video that xconsoles uploaded on the tutorial, and your wires are the same as mine were, opposite from his.

Thanks. I switch the wires and still same autobaud error. :( Not sure whats going on. I hope its my ck3 pro. I ordered a ck3i. I hope with the wire change and new device it works. I've tried it on a windows 7 64bit machine and a Vista 32bit VM. Both no luck.

To be fair i kinda agreed with Uber that in a lot of cases its user error in this sort of scene (but that shouldnt be the default position of a business even if it is true).

As for the diy cable , it is arse backwards the same as the limited batch of TX cable are. Just look at the CK3 pinout table and it lists pins 1,2,5,6,7 like the faulty batch.

I am ambivalent about this revelation , happy as hell that it is finally sorted , pissed that i managed to bork my CK3 whilst hunting for a fix whilst annoyed.

Well done to TX for investigating and finding a fix !!!!!

Thanks :)

You are looking at it wrong
Sorry Uber I don't want to argue with you but these are your official images of the diy cable, I mean don't get me wrong I did use this to update my nand-x and it worked perfect so did the programming of the coolrunner. I just don't think I'm looking at it wrong.

you are looking at it wrong bro - like i said

the diy diagram is looking at the pin header - head on (at the holes)

the colors are looking at the pin header from behind - the side of the wires going in.

Ive uploaded a photo to make it more clear

Those wires are perfect. You have a problem somewhere else.

I've got it now. Is there any way to know when I'm looking at a diagram whether I'm looking head on or from behind? Thanks a lot

Thanks Uber, having spent a week pulling my hair out I sent my NAND-X to another TX forum user (xbox360 hacker) who said he would flash it for me.

But i've just checked my official TX CK3i to NAND-X update cable and it is wired the wrong way round. Thanks for clearing this up I thought I was going mad! :D

Interesting, that one updates fine and one gets the autobaud error with the same cable, device, and PC. Are both of your nand-x's new? And what version of the ck3 are you using to update the nand-x? (i.e. ck3i, ck3 pro non rev-d, or ck3 pro rev-d)

Hmm so is it because of the wrong cable my nand-x won´t get recognized by windows anymore...Still the red power light though, but can´t update it. Possible to fix this somehow or is my nand-x f**ked?
