Well it finally happened to me. I've been running a pure sysNAND with emuNAND and when I went to download BOTW on the sys, I got the ban message. Maybe they've started looking at what's on your SD card 💁🏻‍♂️

He's just making an informative post, as there was not tone of complaining. You know, so others will be aware that having a clean sysNAND is not sufficient to prevent being banned. There's been suspicion that maybe a clean sysNAND would be good enough. So pooh-poohing his comment with boilerplate finger-pointing is pretty ignorant at best, or disingenuous at worst.

Could you elaborate a bit more on your setup? That way we can maybe eventually figure out what exactly tips Nintendo off.

Do you have autorcm enabled?
What emunand do you run? (Hidden partition, files on sd card)
Does your emunand have internet settings but is in flight mode or did you delete the internet settings?
Did you ever revert back to a nand backup for your sysnand?

End of the day no one has 100% confirmed what Nintendo is or isn't checking. It is entirely possible that they are checking the SD. I doubt that they are activley scanning it, but if you put an SD from one Switch into another it will tell you reformat since it was used with another Switch. Who knows what info that is storing. So it's entirely possible that SD info is at the very least being stored somewhere.

Sure, it's emuNAND on the SD, untouched system partition. No auto RCM. emuNAND had internet settings which I used to update games (I knew it would get banned at some point because of all my home-brew). No reverting. I made my emuNAND from a clean sysNAND, as it was a brand new switch.

You mean “I turned off stealth to update my games in emuNAND and got banned”? Just clarifying not trying to be rude...
EmuNAND is an exact copy of sysNAND so anything you do with stealth off is a big fat ban risk. It’s not like emuNAND strips the system of identifying info like incognito does, it’s still up to you to keep it disconnected from their servers.

Since to Nintendo your sysnand and emunand is the same it makes no difference if you go online with a dirty emunand or a dirty sysnand.

Which means your ban means nothing for anyone going online with a clean sysnand. It is extremely unlikely Nintendo changed anything and we got nothing to worry about.
