Clear Dvd Drive top

Ok so ive searched and cant seem to find it.Ive seen a few people do it on here as well. How do we do the clear dvd drive so you can see the disc spinning? Im gonna have a window so I figured it would be a lil cooler to have the dvd window as well

Most people just cut out parts of the metal cage around the drive. Just have to leave the center piece attached to hold the disc in place.

hey does the plastic goes inside the try or outside the tray?

you can buy an already made 1 from ebay

to much, plus not every drive is on there, the metal cases are different. i have a spare drive laying around im gonna play with it after holidays.

i got a few replies and i appreciate it, got a couple more questions, since i have someone who wants a serious overhaul on their system, ive done and can do a lot from rrod fixes/baking to paint and leds... he wants his disc to show while spinning, ive got a metal cut it all bit for dremel im gonna use to do the cutting, do i need to cover it with plexi after that or do yall that have done it, just cut it and leave it it cut no plexi added?

I used plexiglass underneath the cut so dust and whatever else may be in your Xbox doesn't get near the laser.

thats what i was thinking, but wouldnt the plexi rub the disc?

yeah but you did whole clear top, im talking about just cutting some of it out, i have an LT and gonna do it to an HI, we will just see..

Just bought XCM DVD Drive Cover for Xbox 360 Slim / Slimline from ebay. I'm not to thrilled didn't want that silly XCM thing on it, would rather just have the dvd top be open and just have the magnet in the middle. So, it's totally exposed but, I don't think I can do that for the xbox slim!/
