comes up 2 orginal xbox screen

Hi i got my modded xbox second hand and it worked well 4 6 months but it is not now my gf while playing a game on the hard drive went into the xbox live feaures the game froze and she turned it off then back on again it booted up fine then went right into the old xbox screen not my mod screen the chip seems 2 b fine everything green and blue like normal it will play actual disc but no games on the hard drive since i am un able 2 get 2 them any help plz

sounds like the chips bios reflash the chip with the bios again or the dash may have to be reinstall again

I doubt it is the bios on the chip, there is no way it could have been flashed unless you are using the chip with flash protect disabled. Check the switches on the Xbox. Try flipping the enable/disable switch a few times, and if that doesn't work make sure the wires going to the switch are firmly plugged in.

well i followed it threw going 2 bank 2 and flipping the bios switch reflashed it useing both optoins and it didnt work now it will not allow me 2 go 2 the bios screen

teh same thing happen to me and my box it was in the unprotected mode and i switch the things back and forth back and forth but it doesnt work the only thing is i was trying to open windows media player and then it froze so i reset and it didnt work so my buddy said that it could just be currupted dashboard files so ima try that right now but it will play wit discs but not the mod

It is either the switches or the dashboard files got corrupt. Why leave the switch on unprotect?

Well if it went to live its updated the dashboard, pound to a pinch your dash was named MSDASH.XBE, you need a boot disk to restore your dash thats all, you have not had a relashed bios chip , no need to touch your chip in any way shape or form.

So can you tell me how i do all this with the dash and stuff kuz i tried to burn it and it didnt work then i couldnt find the tutorial on how burn it so if you can someone tell me how to or give me a site that tells me how to and what to do to restore all this that would be a BIG help

When i bought the box my buddy i bought it from said not to mess wit the switches so i never did and i left it like that but can someone explain what the bank 1 and bank to mean and the unprotected/protected means

there are 2 512k banks on the chip that can have a hacked bios flashed to them
you can have a different on each bank
bank 1 can have the bios you use the most and bank 2 can have a backup bios in case something goes wrong with the first, you can always recover from the second, or vice-versa

I got it to work i boot off of my CD and then my FTP works now and i FTP a dash onto my box but now the F drive wont work it says 0 out of 0 mb i enabled it and everything and the F drive has all my games and stuff so can someone tell me how to get my F drive back but yeah all you gotta do is get a boot disc then copy a dash back onto the hardrive but iono why my F wont work???
