Why use slax? Use jungleflasher fo everything. Read the tutorial. Also your post doesn't describe where you are stuck.

The hit drive is alittle different then flashing the others.. On hit drive you Can't simply select it on Port select, Over to right "Drive" you need Scan for new hardware, do it once or Twice with you Hit connected untill your Hit drive appears, you need select Right port and Drive on the Hit or wont work... If Scanning doesn;t do it manually scan hardware changes.. Goto
Control panel/System/hardware Tab/Device manager... Right click Top of list and Scan for new hardware... your Hit should appear has a Normal windows Drive..

all sorted now. my pc was on the Fritz so I downgraded at windows xp. found the drive and activated mode b and reflashed first time. got version 2.0b. is it worth screwing everything back? as 3.0 is being produced, and I guess being released soon.

Most of us ( 360 people..) prefer windows XP for this kind of stuff. Its a more solid OS and seems to work better for the flashing process,

yeah i agree. XP is no longer necessary. Especially because 1. Vista is now superseded with 7 and 2. because of the introduction of the 360usbpro. My desktop running XP with via vt6421 pci card is gathering dust big time.
