I've searched the forums for a few hours and can't really find any answers, so I'm posting. That said...

I saw an ad in a local paper selling an X3. It is unopened so it claims. I want to buy it, but I am worried I will not be able to get it to work properly. If I buy the X3, is that all I need? Do I HAVE to install a new hard drive or anything? After I install the X3, I will need to get some files online to flash the bios or something? Is this done by hooking my Xbox up to my PC, or can I burn the files onto a disk and run it on the Xbox? I heard that the X3 allows me to copy the games to my Xbox hard drive, is this true? If this is already posted somewhere, forgive me, and please point me in the right direction. It sounds simple to install, but I am not a computer wiz by any stretch. Some assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Ok..

So all I need is the modchip to install it. Is installing another Hard drive just so you can store more games? And truthfully, I'm not entirely sure what the X3 does, I just know it allows me to store games onto my Xbox and it will play burnt copies of games. The guide only tells me how to install the X3, so whats up with flashing the bios?

X3 Feature List

If you want to make backups of games you're definately going to want a new HDD. Stock HDD will only be able to backup 1 maybe two games.

The X3 comes with a legal cromwell FlashBios...its put on there so you can easily load another bios on the chip...normally a hacked one. Once you get your chip installed you'll want to get the X3 1959 or most recent bios if the new one is released and flash with that.

I reccomend going to www.xbox-scene.com and read until you can't read anymore.

I would never have gotten an Xbox if it weren't for Xecuter.

I originally got my box to mod and take movies with me on deployment.

Now that I am back in the states, I have more fun finding new things to make my xbox do than actually playing games on it.

If you like playing games, though, GET IT. Load times are exponentially faster.
