Complete Newbie To Xbox Scene. NEED HELP!

I just got my xbox and i want to begin modding it right away. Im am not entirely sure what version it is but im gonna say its a 1.6. I am definitly going with the xecuter 3 mod chip and i wanted to know what i would need to get it running right ie, software, bios, dashboards, ext. i dont know what all these components do or where to get there but some info as far as what i need would be nice. Also i was interested in the x3 control panel with the cut out for the lcd screen and the usb ports and the pro switch already on it and wanted to know if it was released yet. Nope, that's not it... It is a hacked bios, so they cannot have it on their website. Here are instructions on how to get the x3 bios.

That should get you started read over the tutorials and take your time when sodering... It will save you a lot of problems in the end.

fried board?

i go through all the trouble and finally get my drive flashed, plug it back in the xbox and it 3 red rings, so i pull it back out and check the board and the top trace (where the green part of the ck3 probe 2 goes) is burned up, the contact is gone. does that mean i fried the board? i was using the conductive glue, is it possible i used too much or is wasnt dried all the way up? i made sure the power slits were lined up. it was a lite on 93450c. i check online and those drives are hard to find if the drive is gone, can i get another lite on, 7 series or 8 series and spoof it? but if i do that, will i be able to play online with the back ups? i do have my dvd drive key.

your drive is toast

just find a PCB from any lite-on drive

THERE IS NO SPOOFING BETWEEN LITE-ONS.....EVER

so just flash whatever type of lite-on PCB you get with your 9xxx firmware

you will not be switching to a different model lite-on

you will not be switching anything

the only difference is firmware version

the firmware is erased when you press "lite-on erase", then you can flash any firmware version to the drive, making it any lite-on firmware version
