BENQ Computer froze in middle of flash

Hi all,

In the middle of flashing my BenQ drive, my computer froze and now my CK3i doesn't work, my drive isn't being recognized, and I can't seem to recover. I'm not completely familiar with this, I've only flashed one drive from stock to LT3.0, and this other drive was supposed to go from LT2.0 to LT3.0. My drive is powered by an Xbox, and SATA'd into the PC. In JF, I get this when I Intro to it, and the last 3 are when I try to write/erase/read the drive. It says it's in vendor mode.

Do you see power lights go on and off when you move the switch?

Nope, they don't and the eject button doesn't work, but the Mode B works. I saw the write up about plugging the molex in upside down, however my PSU is pretty nice and the molex on it are not cheap ones. It's physically impossible to plug it in upside down without breaking the CK3i or shaving the molex sides to look like the \___/ if you know what I mean.

Hook it up and try to send outro to the drive even without it being recognised. See if it will send the outro.

It processes, and then nothing else happens.

It doesnt say outro failed at all?

No other messages after the "Sending Vendor Outro"

Reset JF. Then hit benq unlock again. It should at least put the drive in vedor mode.

Your likely getting errors because there is incomplete firmware writen to it. Without proper firmware on the drive it wont eject or anything. Let us know what happens

Are you clicking BenQ unlock or intro?

BenQ unlock gives that "No Drive Detected BenQ Unlock Aborted" popup, but when I hit intro I get what's in the picture

Proceed with flash as it is in the picture. Its giving unknow flash name and size because it has faulty or incomplete firmware writen to it.

I know with the liteon if its a bad flash, it won't be recognised but it still can be flashed, since its in vendor mode go about flashing it again, this time go to stock then flash LT

Yes, as keli423 said, you can just flash it with status 0x70. Once flashed confirm drive details.

Unfortunately as I said, that's the issue I have. I keep getting "Unknown flash type Write aborted !" whenever I try to write, and if I try to read or erase, just replace "Write" with either read or erase.

I had a similar problem. Did you put the dvd tray half way open? That might help if you didn't.

Have you tried vendor intro? Does the code on the right change as you turn the CK3 off and on?

So the picture I posted is the result of me doing the intro, and my ck3i is dead after the pc froze during the flash. I'm visiting my friend, and hes under the impression that the drive is dead. Well that sucks.

Does you friend by chance has a USB pro? It is possible that the drive is in fact dead. Its not good to just cut it out part way threw a flash. I know its not your fault but it is what it is.
