So, I got my X360USB Pro today, plugged it in, installed the drivers as the website said to do and everything worked fine.

Later on after restarting my PC, I noticed that the X360USB Pro is no longer in my device manager list, and I now discovered that the computer thinks it is a Hard Drive -_-

What does the RESET button on the X360USB Pro do? I'm scared to press it, should I?

I've tried updating the drivers to the X360USB Pro ones but windows says it could not find a better driver in the specified location than the one it is currently using -_-

1. Reset the X360 USB Pro using the reset button

2. Have you updated your X360 USB Pro to the latest firmware? If not, follow the instructions on the forums or of the X360 USB Pro official website.

1. RESET button seems to do absolutely nothing. lol. -_-

2. Can't update the X360USB Pro's firmware due to computer still thinking it's a SATA Drive.

UPDATE: Tried connecting it to my laptop to see what would happen, laptop also thinks it's a SATA. Faulty?

Did you change the switch position to on, then reset the device in order to update it using the update utility?

Yes, tried turning it on, resetting. However, the computer instantly just re-recognises it as a SATA Drive. Laptop does the same...

First image shows the original things in my Device Manager List:

Second image shows pop-up bubble that comes up when I plug in the X360USB. "SPIF30x USB2SATA Bridge USB Device":

Ok do this check for LibUSB-Win32 devices in your computer management dialog box if it is not present..... go to the Universal Serial Bus controllers check for the USB mass storage device that is holding you x360 pro and that was considering it a sata drive-- right click the this and click uninstall in the drop down menu that appears it will give you a warning ignore it(make sure your X360 USB pro is not connected while doing this) then reconnect you USB pro put it in the on position open X360USB PRO Update Tool v0.12... Press the reset button one of the lights will go red then load the latest firmware v18 on to device... Now the x360 usb pro should show in computer management go to it and update drivers to the one provided for install X360 pro drivers v0.1.12.1 ( if you dont know how to do this send me a message)

Hope this helps....

Ok heres what I just did:

1. I uninstalled the USB Mass Storage Device Drivers.
2. I unplugged the X360USB Pro.
3. I opened up the Firmware Update Tool.
4. I plugged in the X360USB Pro with the Switch set to ON.
5. I pressed the RESET Button.
6. The Firmware update tool recognised the X360USB Pro.
7. However Windows ALSO recognised it as a SATA Drive and installed drivers automatically.
8. The Firmware update tool let me update the drivers anyway.
9. Uninstalled the SATA Drivers again.
10. Unplugged X360USB Pro and put the switch into OFF position.
11. Plugged X360USB Pro back in, windows still thinks it is a USB SATA Drive....

Update the drivers by pointing to the x360USB pro drivers
Tried this, it says Windows will not update the driver as the currently installed drivers (The SATA ones) are better than the ones I'm pointing at (The X360USB ones).

6 hours I've been trying to set up this Flashing kit which I just blew £85 of my hard earned cash on and now I'm starting to feel like I just completely wasted my money... :(

So... I'm guessing this is just not going to work.

I've now tried it in 4 different computers with 5 different USB>Firewire cables. None of them will recognise the device as anything other than a Mass Storage Device. -_-

i got this problem before
but i solved them by upgrade USBpro firmware, that's it.Don't unistall anything else
newest FW is 0.18.Everytime you reset USBpro,it's go back to FW version 0.17,that's why your PC don't recognize it as usbpro
hope this help

Plugged my mouse back in and its still working... strange....

But now I'm scared to plug it out, so I'm going to Flash an Xbox RIGHT NOW lol

k, so I managed to flash both of my Xboxes whilst it was working, but I kinda assumed if I turned the X360USB off that it wouldn't work again.

I was right, when I finished flashing, I turned it off and turned it back on again and it doesnt work :S

Now the two lights near the power cable entry point are both flashing (Red and Green) constantly...

Anyone know what that means?

The rapid flashing LED's means the device in unconfigured. This would happen if it has power but but no host to manage it.

The mass storage device is normal. The x360usb is actually a compound device. The host sees a hub with 2 devices attached to it, 1. is pio controller, 2. is mass storage device.

I reckon if you just had a conflict on you pc someplace it would work in other PC's w/o issue. Seeing as you also say you tried it in 4 PC's you may be as well to return this to the reseller for a replacement. The x360usb is a really solid design, I've tested dozens of them in dozens of PC's from servers to netbooks without issue.

Tried this, it says Windows will not update the driver as the currently installed drivers (The SATA ones) are better than the ones I'm pointing at (The X360USB ones).
see a simple update of driver will not work as X360 USB pro drivers are not original Microsoft drivers so what you will need to do is right click on the X360 USB pro that appears in computer management-> click update drivers-> click on the option 'Install from a list of specific locations and then on next-> choose the option 'Dont search.I will choose the driver to install and then on next-> Click on the 'Have disk' option at the bottom of the dialog box screen that appears next-> point to the exact place where you have installed the X360 USB pro drivers until you reach a file with extension .inf select this file and click ok then click next this should solve all the problems your facing.........
