I am waiting for my x3ce, lcd control panel and soderless adapter to arrive. I have spent hours reading the posts and directions. My concern is, why does there "appear" to be so many issues with people frying their box.

The question is, is it just the folks are doing things wrong or does this chip have issues and your "lucky" to get it working. Seems it does not allow for a user to make a mistake....

Thanks.....

BTW: Great forums!!

If you do everything correctly, you will have no problem. This means paying attention to details. Don't rush, in fact, I suggest writing a step by step plan for yourself to follow. Of course make sure the directions you write yourself are correct. Finally, flash the proper bios, and don't flash over your working flashbios this seems to be the major noob problem.

The chip has no issues, I have fitted about 40 of them (solder installs), and haven't fried a box yet.
Like g$$$ says take your time and do your reading before you start and then you won't have any problems.
I think most of the problems come from poor soldering.
Make sure your xbox is a v1.6 and not a v1.6b, the flash procedure is slightly different for the 1.6b. but makes a huge difference if it goes wrong.
Make sure you use the latest bios (3294) and that it's the one for v1.6 and 1.6b.
