Work, always work
I ordered three X2.6CE's from www.system-mods.com on their sale. I received the order and, due to an experience with a faulty switch (thanks be to this forum for helping figure out THAT problem), decided to start checking the new switches.

In my zeal to do so I discovered that I may potentially have a bad chip. I installed the chip on a working Xbox (modded already w/ an X2.6CE that I KNOW is working) and found that I can't get the FlashBIOS screen to come up when switched to EITHER bank, the screen just goes black. Thinking this was a little screwy I also popped the chip into my other box w/ a slightly older X2.6 with the same results.

Thought maybe I'd hot-swap the chip and use FlaxhX to program it, but FlashX just hangs.

So, is there something else I should try? I've almost drawn the conclusion that the chip is just dead and I need to get it swapped out.

BTW, I've been waiting for a replacement switch from my first order which I STILL haven't received. I hope many of you haven't been having the same issue. My second batch of chips revealed a second non-functional switch and one dead chip. Hppe I don't just have bad luck.

If you had a programmer I would try to program it then place in the xbox. I have yet to flash a bios in the box i always preflash.

I've flashed 5 chips from in the box and I don't have a programmer right now. I'm just wondering with everything I posted if there's a way to tell if the chip is actually dead given the information I provided. If so, I'm just trying to determine this before I try to send the chip back.

I've installed 4 working x2.6ce's, then when I go to install my 5th (on a 1.6b), It doesn't work. I finally figured out it was a faulty switch (also from www.system-mods.com). I wonder if anyone else has recieved a defective switch...

Also, I'd use a programmer to check the potentially dead chip.

I'm experiencing a similar problem. (I got 3 chips from BM-mods) The thing that pisses me off the most is I kept f**king with the D0 so much thinking it was that and I messed the trace up. Rebuilt the trace last night and I'm back to the blank screen.

I suppose I could try all three switches with the three chips.
