I am just wanting to confirm if you can get flagged or not from Microsoft if you are on XBOX Live with a drive in the console that has iXtreme firmware on it.

I know you can get flagged if you are running unpatched burnt games etc. But am wondering if they can tell if you have the firmware if you are just using regular games?

Only reason I ask is because I am wanting to give my friend a 360 I flashed but he wants to use it online as well with regular games and then offline with burnt games. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Keep in mind you are never 100% safe with a flashed drive. Your as safe as you can get with the latest but you still run the risk. If they want to be 100% safe dont flash it.

As already said there is no 100% safe, but I would add that even if using backed up games offline its still possible to be flagged on AP2.5, then if you connect to live even with an orig in the drive this flag info can be passed on to Microsoft resulting in a possible ban (who knows how likely though)

A mate of mine has been playing online with the same console for 5 years. Has always had a flashed drive and has never been banned. He just unplugs the network cable when using backups.

I have 3 Flashed here and 2 unflashed. only one of the flashed boxes has been banned and the other 2 are still running fine for 2+ years. All used the same and all plugged in to the network.

Pretty much same here, been using the same console for around 2 years and also not banned, but I have always used the latest f/w latest abgx360 etc. But as far as I know it is still technically possible to be banned for cfw is it not?

Although I think I recall iextreme changing from numbered versions to LT (lite touch) because minimal changes to the stock f/w were needed which c4eva says makes it virtually undetectable, so I'd trust the master

Ive used my benq halo 3 elite online every since modern warfare 2 came out with firmware flashed to the current available iXtreme, never had a ban, always used stealth patched burns. Still never had any issues. Console was flagged when mw2 first hit ap2.5 and i updated and reburnt a copy. Been working fine ever since.

Only used my original while abgx updated to ap3.5 checks. Still in almost mint condition, not a scratch on it. My backups on the other hand, ive been through 5 or 6 discs that have been chewed on by dog, scratched, snapped, etc.

ive been using the same xenon console with a hitachi drive online with backups for about a year and a half now and have never had a problem. I even play my backups online but always check my games with abgx360 before i even put them in my drive. If there is ever a console update make sure you flash back to stock before updating and you should be fairly safe but as many have said not 100% safe.

tbh getting banned would not be something i would lose a lot of sleep over because second hand xboxes are that cheap id just go buy another. i could buy a second hand xbox for round about the same price it would cost to replace a brand new game if it gets screwed. being able to back up my games and hide the originals means more to me than a ban. especially with a 2 year old on the loose in my house:D
