confused by the simple things... drive space allocation

I've got the new 5031 BIOS and flashed it fine, my problem is the sharing of space on the drives, I want the same config as 4983.67 (i think that's 137Gb on F, rest on G - that works on my xbox, and all my games show up on both drives - using the latest BIOS, none of my games show up, and F seems to have 83 Gb on it, and G has nothing - going back to 4983.67 makes the games show up again).
I tried using the latest x2ool to configure the ini file and put that on the E drive (which I know works because I changed the colours on the 'xbox' logo and saw the difference when it booted up) - it's got an option in x2ool to change the lba48 thing, which I think changes the space allocation for the drives but it got a 'rom' loading thing which i havent touched in case i **** it up, I also looked in the .ini x2ool made, and the setting was on '2' for the lba48 option.

To simplify:

I want the 5031 BIOS to split the drives like 4983.67 does

Also a minor point, for some reason the BIOS goes straight to XBMC, even though I've got unleashx.xbe higher up in the .ini priority list than xbmc.xbe and in the correct directory (C:). Any ideas?

Thanks

HAve you tried using this BIOS config tool? http://home.alltel.net/nghtshd/x2ool.html

You have to run that prog, open the BIOS with it, change the option to put 137 on F, the rest on G, then save the BIOS to your PC, or FTP it to the box with the proggie. (The defualt, without an edit, is that F gets it all.)

For now, it seems the only method I can find to allow the BIOS to handle lba48 issues.

The only method other than using the hex settings that are listed in the lba48.txt file included with the bios...

But yeah, the X2ool program makes this a cakewalk.

sorry but time to make you look a bit silly
Yeah, I've only glanced at the lba48.txt file after the first few 50xx releases just to confirm I'm cool with the default. Stock 8GB here so I've no need to support anything beyond E: yet. I just know that the hex edit detail has been in there the entire time, mention of the tools has been more recent. Was commenting on the mention that x2ool was the only way to get large drive support with 5031. The hex edit for X2 bios large drive support has been out there since... the beginning?

Not sure if you were stating that you're making me or others look silly, but hey, the shoe fits and I'll take free footwear. :D

Well I certianly left myself open for misinterpretation, I'll give you that. :) If you ever had a face to face conversation with me you'd find I'm highly skilled at it. Was really saying that there was at least one other method that had consistently been in all the 50xx lba48.txt files I had seen. I remember there was the included patch program with the early 50xx bios'es, but otherwise never really paid much attention as to what the steps were to change it up if I didn't need to do so.

The moral of the story for the kiddies, RTFM. The text files are there for a reason.

Ive been setting all the bios x2 4981 - x2 5032 to where F: will have 137gb and G: has the rest. but it wont let me put anything on G: or open up G: in FlashFXP. also on the file manager on avalaunch it says Error 3 on the G: drive. im not sure what this means if anyone could help.

also if i make it F: takes all, or F: 137gb and NO G:, none of my apps/games show up. my signature has all my xbox info. Thanks
