Confused with these new chips

The xbox I currently have I modded with a 2.3b lite plus. I simply scratched my MB to expose some of it and place the chip ontop them screwed it on. No soldering.

Now I see the 2.6's have replaced this chip, but they all look like they require soldering or at least recommend that. What chip should I be using exactly if I do not want to do any soldering?

The 2.6 has a solderless adaptor. But, there is no point in replacing a 2.3 with a 2.6.

It's not that I want to replace my chip - it's fine and works perfectly. It's just my friend recently decided he wanted to mod his xbox and I figured I would help him out. But I was confused by the new chips. So I basically need a 2.6 with a solderless adapter then?

Yup, that will work just fine for a 1.0.
