Description of problem:

Cant seem to find a guide where it shows a wire install with a postfix adaptor, all the guides seem to have used a QSB somewhere along the way, i bought some QSB's but they are i think, for the trinity console so i am not going to use them, i am looking to do a wire install for the coolrunner using the postfix adaptor..i beleive that a wire install would be different using a post fix adaptor with other QSB's ?, ie, i dont need to run two wires to the underside of the board as you would using the slim post qsb as i am using the post fix adaptor which enables me to solder postout to the adaptor on top side ? so i just need to run shielded to underside to R511 pad ?

I'm not so much an expert on this, but I've never seen a coolrunner rev c with "corona" written on it. Mate I'm afraid you have a fake (rev d) coolrunner which won't be supported here... :frown:

I bought it to save me soldering the crystal on, got it off ebay from the UK, not china...thought it was a bit fishy when i couldnt find any info on revD, but i did buy it in good faith...ok..so in which case, i will not use it, i bought the one below from mr consoles. Thats not a fake ?? and i have a crystal as well.

Which i have now added to my template.

yes, but it does not show it with a post fix adaptor so i am assuming the the post wire goes to the post fix adaptor on the top side of the board now. Having done that and wiring up my GENUINE CR with the NOT cheap crystal, i have a flashing green light but it is very very dim..this does not seem right..is there a certain solder joint that might be at fault?..CR programs fine and the red led is bright

in my experience i never faced a Corona V3/5 Consoles with Bridged R2C7 & R2C6 i think your mobo is V1 and its not needed to Postfix you can double check by removing the X-Clamp and see the Post if missing or not, your CR is Original but you still need a Corona Upgrade QSB or you can add a 48mhz crystal manually

You can check the on-board POST OUT1 with a multimeter. Set to continuity and measure it against GND. If there's continuity, you need a POST FIX adaptor.

Im pretty sure its a V3, it had a DG 165ds drive in it, not that thats proof thereof. it came with a 250gb, i have included pictures of my current install...i cant get this glitch at all, i have tried all the timings, i have installed the crystal..i have also included a picture of under the heatsink on this one, i also have another console which has the 4gb nand which i have not touched yet, post out is definately different between the two, going by the indeification pictures available i deem the one i am trying to glitch has post out missing ? is the wire on the postfix adaptor solder in the correct place ?

And heres the post out area...

and the other console which apparently has post out...

It hasn't had a sex change. You're doing stuff out of order and you'll see strange results because of this.

Maybe explain WHY you're re-reading the NAND *AFTER* writing the ECC to it? Then it will make a lot more sense.

So if you have the original dumps, why would you re-dump AFTER writing ECC?

The process is dead simple and laid out in the J-R PDF (not to mention HUNDREDS of posts/tutorials).

Get reading.

I have done plenty of reading thank you. i know what i have done, i can can redo it..which i have done, loaded the dumps created ecc and written it to nand again just for sakes sake..i am past the point of creating and writing ecc, the console is not glitching, i have asked for help, i have posted numerous pictures of my setup as requested, thank you for pointing out the futility of reading the nands after writing ecc, just so you know it is back in the correct state it should be at and the console is not glitching, is there any advice someone can give me as to where i need to look for problems..if you would be so kind, could you point me to one of the numerous tutorials where it shows how to install a cool runner rev c on a v3 corona with post out fix adaptor wired up as i have yet to find one..ill certainly have a read up.

With the risk of sounding rude and i certainly do not intend it, i feel your being quite obstructive and unhelpful toward me, maybe because i inadvertently bought a fake ?, i have not tried to hide it and have been honest throughout , im aware you are the admin here and i am sure you have had your fill of hearing the the same questions over and over from people like me, all i am asking for is some help to find out why the console is not glitching, i just dumped the nands again whilst waiting for any replies, the outcome of which was strange but you have cleared that up for me. if you dont want to help me then that is fine with me, there are lots of people that i am sure look up to you in here and i do not wish to prejudice myself from help from any others by offending you in anyway so thank you for your input thus far.

Not at all. I'd actually forgotten you had a fake until now.

You need to post NEW pics of ALL soldering. My comment was based on the fact you were doing things out of sequence. If that's the case, what else is wrong? I'm more than happy to help, but you must fill in the blanks first.

Thanks Martin. I think the soledering is all viewable on those last pictures. I can post the nand wires as well if you wish but the nand dumps fine so can't see there being an issue there. Basically the chip seems to be performing it's glitch but the console does nothing. Post fix adaptor is applied but as I mentioned, I am doing a wires install on a corona and there are plenty of guides about but they all seem to be using a qsb at some point..With regard to post fix adaptor, im not sure whether it's MEANT to be soldered down as it seems to have solder points where it sits over resistors, though they might be just the anchor points as described to make it seat permanently. .is my post out wire from cr to postfix adaptor correct ?, again.. I can't seem to locate precise instructions for its usage in my situation, not for the want of looking !. Until I find the crystal I bought I removed the one from the fake cr and used it. The cr looks to be doing what it's supposed to do but console does not boot with any of the timings.. do I NEED to be now looking at removing resistors or changing bridges on the cr ? Could that be the difference between it booting or not booting or are they just for the purpose of boot time tweaking.

I got to sleep now as I am working nights but will be back later.

Thanks again for any advice.

I don't see the Corona Upgrade kit anywhere?

From the template:

Do you get a green debug light appear on the RGH chip every 4-5 seconds: Y/N

How long is the light on for each time:
