Connecting RGH Jasper to Internet ethernet cable to pc using wifi dongle.NoConnection

Long story short I've been at this for quite some time. If I run a 15 ft. ethernet cable across the room from the router to xbox no problems of course... But the pc is situated right next to my tower that is using a wifi dongle to connect to the internet. I've got a ethernet cable running from my pc to the xbox and I've tried bridging the connection and sharing it...sharing the connection works but I have to set it up every time I turn the console on. Main reason for wanting to do this is for FSD, download covers, etc... Been searching for quite some time to no avail (wrong keywords maybe)...any help would be appreciated and if this is in the wrong category my apologies...livestrong-disabled.

What kind of internet? You can't just get the wireless adapter for your console?

depends on you cable wether its a newer cable or not. if it works bar having to share the connection every time then its not required as it wouldnt work at all.

no idea why you have to keep sharing the connection

Even when it shows connected, I can't download covers or even connect with JQE. I think it has something to do with using a wifi dongle on my pc then trying to share the wireless connection through ethernet.

I have used ICS before and it works fine.

Enable ICS on the wireless adapter and check the IP address the LAN adapter gets - it should be 192.168.0.1.

Try these network settings on your console:

IP Address: 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

Primary DNS: 192.168.0.1
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 (blank)

If you still have problems, make sure you can ping the console (192.168.0.2).

U.K.
You'll have to assign the wired lan connection to 192.168.0.1 which will enable the dhcp server for that connection, you should be able to leave the xbox on auto or use the settings above. I've been using this setup for ages and works well. You may also need a crossover cable, tho I've read there not needed but my stock zephyr wont work without one, unless its connected through a hub.
Cheers

Another solution is to purchase a small wireless bridge. This is essentially acts like a router that wirelessly connects to another router. Set up the bridge to connect to your router and then plug in an ethernet cable from the bridge to your Xbox 360 and you should be good to go. Saves messing around with ICS.
