I have a Corona v2, cr4 xl, corona qsb, and 4gb r/w kit. I can read the nand (it shows 0 for size in jrunner on E: but it reads good and matches). I have tried to create ecc from my file and write it. I also tried the 4gb ecc in jrunner. It says it completes the write but no xell, and no boot. I believe it is writing good because i wrote the original nand back to it and it boots again. I have checked all my soldering with a multimeter. I have tried different lengths of cpu rst wire even though i dont believe that is important with the cr4 xl. i tried 2 different card readers with the same results. I have tried different switch positions. I am lost and i have been reading for 3 days. I like to educate myself before posting but I dont know what to try now. Thanks for any help.

Re: Corona v2 no xell

We need pics of install. Also some v2 may have missing post out. So may need a postfix adapter.

Re: Corona v2 no xell

I have redone all the solder even though it tested good the first time. It looks better now than it does in the pics. I'm still getting the same results. Red light on, green light flashes every 5-6 seconds.

have you got it switched to slim ?

why are you using the under side of the board for E - are you sure thats a correct alt ?

Have you played with the post bit and dips ?

It on slim (But I tried it on phat just for fun also). That is one of the alt points for corona. I couldn't get a good connection on top but after I soldered on bottom, I checked the top original connection to the cr4 xl with a multimeter and it was good, I have tried many setting with the dips. All get the same result.

If i write the corona 4gb ecc file to it, It does not boot with the 5v removed. If I write the original nand back to it, It boot just fine, even with the 5v hooked up.

Another strange thing, if I program the corona 4gb ecc file or create my own, I have to push the eject button about 20 times before it turns on. It dings every time but it doesn't turn on every time.

FIXED!!! Turns out I had an old version of j-runner from xbins. I downloaded the newest version which included the specially made ecc file for the cr4 chip. The old version only had a generic corona 4gb ecc file. Thanks to everyone for trying to help me.
