Continue to get read only message

I continue to get read only message even if flash protect is on or off.
Is there something i'm missing?

Is it disabled onboard the chip and on the switches?

Yes switch 5 is set to off and i've tried both ways on the board.

Disconnect the ext. switch from the x3 and see if that makes a difference.
And while your at it look at the x3 and the ext. switch and see
if you have any bent pins, and check the black cable to see if you
may have crimped or cut the cable when feeding it through the
controller ports.

I got it to work some how, i don't think the board was seated well.. thanks for the help
