Continues Red Dot?

I received my nephews 4gb slim xbox back from my modder today which could only install the qsb and the box no longer works. It will go to dash for a few seconds or almost a minute but then gets the red dot but no visual or audio. If I unplug and replug the red dot shows again instantly. Could this be because the qsb is still attached but the rest of the job was not finished? His nandx broke so he couldn't finish the job. Please help asap my Aunt is pissed. :frown:

How do you mean "red dot"?

Is the red dot flashing where the power button is or is it flashing on the CoolRunner?

If he "couldn't finish the job", he doesn't sound much like a good modder to me. Did you pay him (I hope you didn't)?

do you know if he tried flashing the nand?

anyway you can provide pics of the soldering

also do you know if he fitted the coolrunner

also ask him if he pulled the nand from it and get a copy of your 2x nand reads if he even did that
this way if it can be fixed you still have ur original nand to flash back or finish the job

nand-x's are rock solid its a strange excuse but they do say a bad worker always blames his tools:rolleyes2:

Also if he fitted the QSB correctly this would NOT cause an issue

dont know actually i guess he might have messed up the cpu rst point and took an alternative which is sh*tty soldered thats why its farkin with your Box just sayin

No blinking or message just the Red middle dot and thats all. He never installed the coolrunner because he couldn't dump the nand he said it said "insignificant power"?
My camera sucks so you wouldn't get much of a solder job image, sorry I tried.
I was paying $100 per console but non are completed. My other one has corrupt nand or something. He said hes waiting for the new nandx on Tuesday b4 he can fix that one and return it to me.

I think you've been had, the NAND-X only requires 3.3v to operate and that is with the console OFF but in standby mode so to speak.

I assume you don't have a NAND-X of your own to try and read the NAND with?

Has he installed the CoolRunner or just the QSB?

I don't own a nand X and no just the qsb is installed.

I would have to say send both your consoles to a real modder and never ever gave him other console. I've done probably hundreds of consoles (flashing, reflows and now rgh) and I've never returned a console that wasn't working 100%.

Well if I get my other xbox he still needs to repair the nand back I'm selling it and this one he said hes replacing with a working one Tuesday/Wendsday. Either way BOTH the consoles I don't trust anymore and just going to sell however I can. I will either buy 2 predone consoles or two new while they have the $150 sale and have them rgh.
If you wanna sell me 2 new 4gb rgh now hit me up asap. I needed them for tomorrows game night but Im f**ked over then but need 2 fully perfect xboxs asap. I'm located in New Jersey and I'll do overnight but need them now. My Aunt's furious...
