i just saw a pic of the control panel... (looks awesome btw) to install this, will it involve soldering and stuff like that because it literally replaces the eject button, controller ports etc. also, will there be a way (or is there already) to make the eject button led blue?

if you look at how your front panel os hooked up right now you will notice that it uses snap on connectors, so the control panel uses snap on connectors, you should not have to solder a single thing. The install for the control panel should be a lot easier than the x3. Hope this helps.

yup. just one more question. i looked at a picture of the control panel and it looks as if it replaces the eject button. does it actually replace it or does it just have a hole to let the original eject button to stick out?

you pop your old eject/power button out of the stock faceplate i would imagine since it is literally installed in the panel itself ... simply pop it into theX3 Control Panel.

If you wanted your power/eject LED to be blue, you might want to look on either ebay or llama.com to purchase a pre-soldered switch. (or you can just buy the LEDs and solder them yourself.)

Help on flashing Samsung drive

Hey everyone, this is my first post here on 360mods and I desperately need help getting my Samsung drive flashed to iXtreme LT 1.0. I had it flashed a while ago and I'm not sure what firmware it was flashed to (I think iXtreme 1.51) but I want to update it to LT.
Now I am pretty dumb when it comes to more complex things like this, and I've looked and searched for MANY tutorials but nothing that has gotten me very far. I have most of the things I think I would need:
-360 Firmware Tool
-JungleFlasher
-iXtreme LT v1.0 firmware
-iXtreme 1.51 flashed Samsung drive
-SATA cable

I would very much appreciate if someone could please help me with a detailed tutorial (please don't link me to another) on exactly how to flash it.

Re: Help on flashing Samsung drive

Go to the junglflasher, download the .pdf tutorial. It is the only tutorial on the net that is up to date and it's super easy.

All you need is Jungleflasher, a sata cable, and your 360. Basically all you do is plug it into your pc, click the unlock samsung button, click read, get your key, spoof it into LT 1.0 FW, click write, click outro, done. lol

Just read the JF tutorial, it is idiot proof, very clear and concise, hard to misunderstand it. You'll thank me later. :)

If you have any other questions just ask ok?

Re: Help on flashing Samsung drive

So I'm on page 21 of the tutorial, after I disconnect the drive with it half open. After I do so, I am to click on MTKFlash32 and click the option for Intro / Device ID. Only thing so far is that it gives me an error: "MTK Vendor Intro failed".

EDIT: Also my Xbox doesn't seem to say on for very long (A/V cable unplugged) and when it is the Xbox seems to overheat with it in.

Re: Help on flashing Samsung drive

Um...well, for starters, make sure you have the av cable plugged in.

Then, click on MTK Flash 32, then select the I/O port your samsung is on, then click "Sammy Unlock", then click read, save it, then load LT 1.0 and spoof your key into it, then click write, then click outro. In that order!

Samsungs do not require for the drive to be half open, that's only lite-ons! But I cannot remember if that has something to do with 1.51...regardless, try this all with the drive closed, ok?

Re: Help on flashing Samsung drive

Haha. Well the only reason I had the A/V cable out was all the videos I've seen it was unplugged lol. Trying now..

Just to clear something up that has been bothering me, in order for the computer to read the drive do I have to turn off my computer plug it in with the Xbox turned on for it to read?

EDIT: No, the computer found the drive. Had to choose the I/O port like you said but I had to do the half tray otherwise I got the same error. I'm now trying to read the firmware from the drive I think?

Reading Bank 0: .

Its been like that for like 5 minutes lol

EDIT 2: Xbox is overheating I guess it cuts off ties with the drive when it happens. Successfully retrieved my drive's firmware. Kind of confused what to do now. I think the tutorial is telling me to load the iXtreme LT 1.0 firmware.

EDIT 3: According to the tutorial and JungleFlasher, it was successful. Time to test..
