the usb's piggback off the 3+4 control ports

that means if u are using the 3 and 4 controler ports, the 2 usb ports wont do anything right?

This seems most likely - but the situation seems quite rare - when would you need to use all 4 ports for controllers AND the usb ports....probably never really...

the stuff on the left side of the panel is used for switch fuctions to change banks and such. And i think the xecuter logo at the bottom changes colors depending on mod status like the regular switch does but im not sure on that one.

Yeah, usually when you "piggyback" off of something the piggy works with the piggybacker. Like when you give someone a piggyback ride you still work don't you?

if the usb ports are taking power from the 3+4 controller ports then i'm pretty sure that u can use the controll ports & usb at the same time
If i understand correctly. You say that you can use both controllerports 3 & 4 while at the same time using the extra usbports?

if this is what you saying, i disagree.

why?

1 st. :Because i doubt MS put 2 extra non used USB ports in the XBOX just for fun.
2 nd. : It's more likely there is an cable splitter that actually makes one of the USB ports connceted with ex. Controller port 4 and the other vise versa or something like that. (parallel connection)

but you could always use the usbports to get some voltage to external USB lamps or mobile charger... blah blah blah..

I could be wrong though, you never know the work og M$

USB can "piggyback." Look at any iMac. Ok, so don't do it on purpose, but if you happen to catch one out of corner of your eye, note that the mouse plugs into the keyboard, and so can other devices. There's a hard limit on USB 1.0, but each device get's it's own "signature" at initialization.

So, theoretically, if T-X did it right, both would work.

However, no MS game would have more than four controllers of any type functional at the same time, and mostly the xbox linux programs are what you'd want a keyboard and/or mouse for. Like web surfing, or entering commands, instead of hunting through an onscreen keyboard.

Other than that, you might still be able to use it at the same time for a memory card save, and maybe eventually a USB hard drive, but they're usually slow and internal drives are so cheap why bother?

If there is the equiv of a passive USB hub built into the USB port extension, then they could be used at the same time (I doubt this as it would be too expensive for little use it would get in real world), if they are just hard wired across controller ports 3 & 4 (more likely) then it will be either the controller port OR the USB port at one time. Wonder if there is any builtin protection to stop noob's using both concurrently and blowing up thier USB devices or controllers

Does anything get done for noobs on here? The X3 didn't even come with instructions packed. Noobs had to hunt and peck to figure it out for the first two weeks, all the while getting slammed for posting questions.

I don't think it would damage the devices. They just won't work. Half the power, crossed signals, etc.
