Controller Won't Work

Hey, i just installed the X3 mod chip on my xbox, and i boot it up and everything seems to be ok, i just cannot select 'load bios from disc' because the controller doesnt seem to be working. It won't me move up or down on the slection list.

is this common? any remedies? I have no idea what to do.

I had the same problem. Turned out to be my controller. I was trying to use a cheapo controller that i had bought. As soon as i plugged in the controller that came with my xbox it worked fine.

I am having the same problem. I am aready using my controller that came with the xbox but still no luck any help would be apreciated.

you can try plugging the controller in after flashbio's boot sometimes that help you can also use the dvd dongle if you have one.

Nope still no luck. I don't have a dvd dongle. So if you have any other ideas please let me know.

Had the same exact problem with a friends system. We could not make it work with the OEM but when he brought it to my house it worked just fine with my old controllers that came with my version 1 box. He then went and bought one at the store and it worked perfect. He purchased an S controller and no problems. Try other controllers is all I can say...

i just went out and bought the dvd remote, and it works like a charm! thanks so much

You should re-plug your controller wire in inside your xbox, my controller ports have not worked because the wires weren't plugged in fully. I mean, that's if it doesn't work with games.

I still have that problem with my xbox with X3 mod chip. My controller does not work at the flash bios. However if I turn it off and use the regular boot up to play any games, my controller works fine. I think for my problem, my controller is plugged in to the mobo just fine. I am also using the original controller that came with the xbox. Do I have to buy another controller to make it work?

I read the other post, do I need to get the DVD remote kit to do the selecting?

Make sure there is nothing else connected into the controller..eg memory card...

Maybe it has something to do with which port you use? Try different ports. Just an idea.

I just installed my modchip and i have the same problem, the control works booting from the xbox system, if i boot to try to flash the bios the remote doesnt work, I know its not the cables!, i think this is a known problem , please help!! I have an original s control that came with my 1.6 xbox.
