From what I understand, as I've been slightly out of the know for some time since the 360s initial launch. I have been watching and reading on the new cpu pulse glitch and deciding possible on buying the CoolRunner, and exactly what all can be achieved currently via this glitch? i understand this enables the ability of homebrew but to what extent? will I be able to use FreeBoot like my jtag? can i finally backup my precious gems to my harddrive? any help on the matter will be much appreciated

thanks in advance

atm - there is no public booter or homebrew....you can only currently run xell.....u will need to wait for homebrew to be released for it, then the possibilities are endless ;)

beautiful to hear :D but one last thing, i was thinking last night and must have confused myself somewhere down the line but please if you can correct me on this.

(my reference concerns slim 360) I was thinking to myself, if we have the ability to read/write the nand of any 360 to date, then why cant we just write xell to the nand and it just run? whats the point of the glitcher? now of course i thought of the point of it being a console security issue but the glitcher's main purpose is to bypass that security am i right?

The issue to date has never been that we couldn't read or write to the nand. Its been that the 360 hasnt been able to read unsigned code (anything not done me M$). Now with the new RGH the 360 is able to read unsigned code thus giving us a reason to write to the nand.

I hope this helps a bit as i'm no expert.

The above is correct..... The coolrunner interrupts the timing of the CPU whIch allows the boot sequence to be interrupted and unsigned code is allowed in the back door so to speak

sweet, so if i buy the nand-x and the coolrunner RGH board and a cygnos v2 is this everything i will need to perform this mod on my trinity mobo? im assuming that the nand-x comes with cables that i will hopefully be able to use with the cygnos and coolrunner for programming, is this correct?

Just check out any reseller about the nand x kit. They sell it just the nand x alone or as a kit with different qsb's. You could just buy the nandx and the qsb for the slim since you don't have another boxes.

You don't need a cygnos to perform this hack, you'll only need one of those if you want to dual boot. The cable for programming the coolrunner will be sold separately apparently, the T-X cable will be a LPT programming cable as well so you'll need the correct port on your PC.

yes i plan on doing a dual boot via cygnos, i thought the nand-x has the ability to read and write to the nand via usb?

ok so i could bypass the nand-x all together, but what will i need to program the coolrunner board? or is this even necessary?

Coolrunner is an add on for the nandx
It's not an add-on, it is a seperate module. The NAND-X is just used for reading/writing your XBOX 360 NAND flash. However, I believe there will be a JTAG programmer that will be available as an add-on for the NAND-X (to program the CoolRunner).

/Facepalm...

The TX Coolrunner is a Nand-X add-on and has to be programmed by the Nand-X (currently)

Uber stated this already... http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69758

As uber stated in previous threads. The coolrunner cannot be programmed by the nand-x or any nand programmer at the moment. They will be selling an lpt programmer.
this confuses me as it states very clearly

Note: You can use the CoolRunner with any NAND SPI Flashing tool - however as the NAND-X is our product and one of the most popular on the market anyway, that is the product that we recommend.

ah, sorry i see. basically saying it can be used also with any nand spi flashing devices. my main issue is, will a USB LPT cable work if i splice the wires and connect them to the coolrunner for programming or a regular LPT cable? or am i going to have to wait until a proper cable is made available?

does this relate to coolrunner in anyway

Link To Image

JTAG-USB Full Speed Module
$47.00
Technical Details

 • USB type A to 6-pin female header connector
 • FPGA and JTAG device programming accomplished with Digilent Adept Software.
 • Can program devices that have a JTAG voltage of 1.8V or greater
 • Connects to the USB port of a PC, and to a standard 6-pin JTAG programming header
 • Requires Adept 2.0 or iMPACT or later for operation
Just an opinion since I don't know the exact answer to your question.

I wouldn't spend $47 just yet on a product that no one will know for sure if it works since the coolrunner isn't even released. Ubergeek said that programming cables will be released. An LPT at first and possibly followed by a USB programmer later. Considering from a quality company like TX most of there products cost less then $60, I cant see how they whould put out a cable that is going to break the bank.

However if your like me and want to be prepared pick up an LPT card for your PC there super cheep.

i bought the nand x and soldered it to my 512 jasper
i used coolshrimp's jtag tool and was able to read nand
i did not have a old kernal but i wrote xell to my nand anyways, i got worried when the xbox stopped booting up because the only program to erase the nand i could find was NandPro20d and its all command prompt dos like program it took me awhile to get the commands correct so i could fix my xbox

so i guess this is what the coolrunner is for, it should allow my xbox to boot xell
i ordered it weeks ago and it has been on back order
first they said will ship by today october 7th,
then they changed the picture of the item which is now another color (white)
and changed the ship by date to the 14th
doesnt matter though not much can be done with it yet

i was in a hurry learning how to install nand x and use coolshrimp's jtag tool and nandpro
but then after rushing on that, that is when i started to relise there is nothing else for my kernal worh learning yet and i cant even find info on how installing the coolrunner works and such, much less info on running 360 games from a 2tb for any kernal because this/these info/apps doesn't/don't yet
I wouldn't rush to much yet. The coolrunner isn't even released.

Ubergeek said that no company is even supposed to have it on pre order yet, I wouldn't get to worked up over dates because the company is only guessing.

There is nothing released yet to let you use the rgh to boot from a HD. However i'm sure if you check here frequently you will find out as soon as it is released.
