Hi !!
I've done 2 slims and a falcon , 15 days ago but using a matrix chip now I've ordered 3 coolrunner chips for 2 slim and a jasper 16mb.
my first question is:
what is the swtich NOR / PROG ??maybe nor when booting xbox, prog when programming the chip??
the second one is:
I can see in the picture of the chip the words SLIM and PHAT, there is a switch there too or the chip recognise the motherboard model??
thank u

the nor.prog is indeed used as you mentioned - nor for normal operatio - prog for programming the coolrunner

there is also a switch to select which console it is going in - phat or slim

Just a quick remark, when you use a Xilinx USB Jtag programmer (HS-1) to program the Coolrunner, leave the switch to NOR. When I set it on PRG it won't detect the IC at all.

Mind you, this is before installing it.

I just began to be frustrated without this operation procedure ! tried programming it thousand times leaving the switch to prog with jtag cable!

Thanks you a lot!
