OK i will remove the LED i installed and try it this way it is much cleaner and it uses the LED that's already on the RF board. So which side of R1 on REV A?

It is simple electronics the Red and Green points of the LED's on the ROL are switchable grounds and positive that is on all the time that is why my Glow mod works when the console is off. So change the wire on R1 to the ground side and solder it to Green or Red point of the LED and it will be a stable ground when the coolrunner is on and glitching. By the time the coolrunner is done glitching (green LED turns off) and ROL functions like normal. Or leave it on the positive side of R1 and give the Red or Green a stable ground and the diode soldered to the positive of the LED:)

I've been chatting with superspeed over PM, im stuck though.

Ive got a Rev B CR. Here is what ive done:
1. Soldered a wire to the lefthand side of the 'R1' chip on the CR.
2. On the other end of this wire, ive soldered a 1n4148 diode with the Black line facing AWAY from the CR.
3. This diode is then soldered to the Left hand side of the player 4 LED.

When i boot, the Red LED turns on, and the Green (debug) LED begins to flash signaling the start of the pulses. Nothing happens on my ROL though.

Ive played around with the diode (turning it around etc) and nothing. If i remove the diode entirely and solder the wire to the LHS of the player 4 LED, the Green LED on the CR stays on constantly.

If i solder the wire/diode to the other side of the ROL LED, then the Debug LED flashes on the CR AND the ROL (it flashes for 5seconds on the CR, then whilst its off on the CR, it then lights up on the ROL and vise versa)

Could i have been given the wrong diode?
Anyone got any ideas?

I do not see what is so hard about doing this. Its really basic stuff. I mean serious its only 1wire to solder in place.

to be fair, im at work currently.
i DID send superspeed photos of my installion...
It wasn't aimed at you specifically.

Nobody can help unless there are images of what you've done - the sooner people understand that, the better! If you have images, they should have been posted here, not just emailed to one person.

As image shack is blocked here, im writing these out from my phone, so may be wrong lol

- This is my solder wire to the 'R1' point

- This is a wire from the CR 'R1' point to a diode (with the black line facing AWAY from the CR)

- this the diode wire soldered to the player 4 LED

Can you see these images?

Yes it should still work on either the led or the r1 point.

Thank you will add to the OP and credit will be given TY for testing on the phat.
na dont work ..one thing this is a easy solder job but how is taking live from the cr and adding it to a all ready live point going to make it light??? the old rf is switching negative in the video that was posted the rf he used is totaly diffrent to the ones i have i wounder if this is why it worked for him i cant say as i dont have not got one to test the only way i know of for this to work if you look on the net is modded .jed file but i use the nandx to prog the cr so cant test..

Is your CR still only blinking in program mode? If so that may have something to do with your problem.

@RROD! Soon as I get a phat in I will test it out myself and work the bugs out. When that will be is beyond me everyone's going slim lol. Yours is the Rev b correct?

When its in PRG mode, no lights are on the CR at all.
Ive bought another diode, as i think it could have been destroyed due to the heat...

If it is 1 wire only then it needs to be on the negative side of R1 and solder it on Green or Red point :)

you have the same RF board as I do (see my post a couple pages back)

the GND on this board is not standard, ie: no direct link (continuity) to ground from the - side of the leds. you will need to put a new led on a grounded spot and wire your vcc from the CR to the + side of the led as in my picture:
