more info on this please? i can give it a try.
pin 9 on the rf board is unused from what im seein on some sources, and i have had a rf board i made an extention for and only connected pins 1-7 and has been working for 7 mounths, pin 8 is a second ground.

pin9 does connect to the sb but it doesnt go anywhere on the rf board, if you cut the traces and feed to that pin then there wouldnt be an extra wire on the rf board. I am just about to try it out myself, should have some info and pic on here in an couple hours.

YAY, it worked,

so heres what i found, earlyer i had looked at a zepher board and also checked a xenon and found that they have a trace connected going to the southbridge that looks like it needs cut, you can easly do it on the bottom of the board right by the rf board plug.

the board i actualy did this on was a falcon, its trace for pin 9 goes on top of the board but goes to a unpopulated location so it terminates itself.

the other end on the rf board on atleast all the boards i looked at goes knowhere, so no worries there but you may want to double check...

i just used a smd led off a wirless headset on the rf boar clearing a small ground spot behind the bottom left position 2 color led, but be carfull, there are traces there so make sure you know whats ground.

hey again guys,

just thought i would add i think that mod should be the same on a jasper, but i dont have a jasper in my shop right now, if someone could confirm this for me that would be awsome, :)

heres a pic of a falcon with the pin 9 trace coming to the unpoulated location

Also i am workin on the slim version but unfortunatly i do not have the technical documentation for a slim nor do i have dead parts to experiment with, I think i have found 2 possible canidates on the slim but am at the end of my rope for now till i get some dead parts to take apart, if anyone has a dead rf board i can pull the plug off or if someone could do that and send me pics that would work too.

Heres the two traces im thinking may work, they are pins 5 and 6

EDIT: 5 & 6 are used on the other side of the board... DO NOT USE!

I have a couple jaspers I can look at in the morning

the slim RF board you have uses the negative pulses, I have one showing up in a couple days I can take a peak at, though I won't be tearing too much apart on it. I do have a slim I can poke around a bit on, but it's a customers so I can't do anything invasive.

Very cool. So since its on a separate led, is there no need for a diode anymore ?

Here is the slim version. I pulled off the ports on both the ROL and the motherboard to find if there were any unused pins. Pin 4 is unused and no traces need to be cut, at least on my Trinity.

Not sure if it's my eyes (7.30am in the UK...lols) but that pic is not clear at all.
Have you scraped the pcb by 'R43' and taken a short wire to the LED for the neg connection?

Thats what it looks like. Any pics with that lit up? How does it light up the quadrant with using only one led?

yeah sorry its so blury, using my phone and i croped it down, but yeah, short wire to ground on one side and then to pin 4 on the other.

had to leave the gnd side long and take it to another solder point too to keep it in place then added the led then took it to pin 4 and then cut off the excess.

it lights up pretty good actualy. it's not here right now but i will try to get a lit pic of it.

heres what it looks like lit up, and a little better pic of the board.

honestly, the bottom left or top left would have been way easier, there is plenty of ground space. but i wanted to prove i could to that too though.
