If you do it the original way ( for rev A ), then you need the diode, but if you do it my way (rev A + B), you can use any color led adn no diode is needed...OK thanks and i need a diode? i also have the Xecuter Glow Mod installed anyway i can make the debug led on RF board be red like the glow mod then when console shows ROL it is green like normal?
yes, just do the same thing I did, but use a red led instead of the green one.ok and can i make the led on RF board show red when it is debugging then turns green when ROL is spinning
I figured mine out. You HAVE to remove the original green led off the Coolrunner or the New one will be dim.I did the blue and it is dim. Looks like it is trying to light both Leds on the Rol.
Glad to see you guys working it out I will personally revise the OP in a bit to suit both Rev A and B. Just give me a bit and I'll figure it out W/O using the green debug light.I figured mine out. You HAVE to remove the original green led off the Coolrunner or the New one will be dim.
Was mistaken it is positive and adding picture for the Rev B version.any way to make the red dot flash with debug?

Also superspeed, according to your picture, you're soldering to the positive side of the dbg diode on the CR Rev A. I just tossed my diode tester on it and i get it to light up with the positive probe where your diagram shows you solder to and the negative probe on the GND wire or any where in the box. From the looks of the ROL board and the continuity tests i have doen you're soldering to the positive side of that as well.
So im confused, is your diagram wrong and soldering Negative to negative, or are we just mistaken.
ah i thought only one did. always i soldered it to the back of the rf board on an empty tinted pad. Both blink in the method I used.
BTW Revised OP for the Rev B version.
Can i leave the original debug led on the coolrunner alone just solder wire next to it? or do i have to remove it?If you do it the original way ( for rev A ), then you need the diode, but if you do it my way (rev A + B), you can use any color led adn no diode is needed...
You can leave it. Some say the ROL lights up brighter with it off but I see ni difference. Can i leave the original debug led on the coolrunner alone just solder wire next to it? or do i have to remove it?
Yes you use a diode and the positive side of the led. Like shown in the OP.OK thanks then the other end of the wire goes to the positive of any led on the RF board, with no diode? I have a REV A Coolrunner
I posted a new image for a 1wire install for the Rev B version in the OP. The only thing that changed was coolrunner side.I am using the Rev B tutorial, he said i don't need a diode
