*SOLVED*CoolRunner No green light, NEED HELP!*SOLVED*

*******SOLVED****
IT WAS MY YELLOW WIRE WHICH WASNT SOLDERED PROPERLY! ITS FIXED NOW, THANK YOU ALL!

Hi there,

So Ive been having problems, I cannot get my xbox to boot into XELL ::frown:

So heres what I did:

1) I made the rookie mistake and install everything at once ... (Installed Coolrunner, XNAND QCBs and Jtag kit thingy..?)

2) Kept going anyway, hooked everything up, dump the nand twice, no differences between both.

Cant get XELL to boot up!! Argg. Anyway I will post some pics, tell me if I did something wrong, and could someone explain to me the Jtag Connection kit? ( Theres a little switch on it, what should I put it on?

And now ive been having some problems, I was following one tutorial then since it hadnt worked I went and followed this, so using that program (Jtag Tool) I went and followed all the steps...

So heres what happended:
I dumped the nand again twice just for fun with the Jtag tool, no differences found. But I decided to compare them with my original two dumps, and the original nand and the nand I just dumped now dont match...? Look in the pic, u will see what I mean.

So that doesnt add up, and when I try to go and create a ECC file from the new nand file, it doesnt work... Again, look in the pics... But when I try to create from the original it will work, and does it successfully.

So I write that ECC file to the console and it says successful, but no green light on CoolRunner when it powers on. And I try powering from dvd eject button.

Sooo, hopefully you guys can help me out and get me on xell! Anyway all help is appreciated, thanks!

Im a noob!

Here are the photos, couldnt upload them here, they were too big...

1. Remove ALL wiring which is NOT present in the Coolrunner installs. You can leave the QSB there but set the switch to zero.

2. What is this obsession with hot glue??? You've yet to prove your soldering so you stick it all down with something which can pull traces? Do you not have any tape?

3. On the subject of obsessions, if you dump 16MB of 0000's or FFFF's and you dump the same again to compare them (and of course they match), what exactly are you checking?

At what point did you run your dump through 360 Flash Dump Tool? I don't see any screenshots for this.

I'm going to make this nice and clear:

Warning
DO NOT VALIDATE YOUR DUMP BY ONLY COMPARING ONE AGAINST THE OTHER.

Ok so Ill leave the Jtag QCB there, and I removed the wire and set the switch to off, so that should be good for that, right?

The glue was so it did not move...

So I ran the dump through the 360 Flash Tool, heres the pic.

Sorry, Im all new to this, so how do I know I have a good dump regarding the 360 flash tool?

Looks good. The fact you can open it in 360 Flash Dump Tool is a good sign.

There are noob guides in the tutorial section. I suggest you follow one of those.

I am trying to follow this guide...

Want to point me in the right direction and show me a better one?

Because I get to the point where I need to turn the console on, and I am not greeted by XELL or by a flashing green light. Just a red light on the coolrunner and no audio\video at all... :(

Why have you installed the JTAG QSB's as well? did you see them and assume you needed them? Take pictures of all your solder points of the coolrunner and the coolrunner itself as well.

This might be one of the funniest/saddest threads I've seen about this subject. :\

First, SLOW down. One step at a time mate or you're just going to drive yourself bonkers.

First, ditch anything JTAG related, you are doing RGH.

Second, get the NAND programmer working. As you have run your dumps through 360 flash, you should have good working dumps. Make sure they compare. You should do 3, compare them, and make sure they open in the tool.

Third, build the .ecc and flash that.

Fourth, program the Coolrunner.

Fifth, Install coolrunner.

That should get you going. Don't do everything at once! And if in doubt, read more before you bork something up!!!!

Ok so the Jtag thing, can I desolder that all together? Will I need it in the future?

---------- Post added at 13:14 ---------- Previous post was at 13:06 ----------

And the console WILL power on, just no green light appearing on the CR... Also, I dumped the nand for a third time, and I had bad blocks this time, is this normal, because the two other times, I did not receive bad blocks...
UPDATE:
just realised one of the cables werent plugged in correctly for the nandX this time, probably leading to the bad blocks, will dump again lol...
dumped again, only one bad block this time, but wont open in flash dump tool this time, so what does this mean? Bad dump?

NO JTAG boards. Your best bet is to read, read, and read some more. Then start over. (with maybe the exception of the wires for the CoolRunner because the Mobo is easy to mess up if you aren't careful.
