"I have been reading so much crap to learn about this stuff"

Obviously not read enough to know that Zephyrs have been problematic for everyone.

Or enough to understand what you're actually reading and writing to the NAND. Who knows why you couldn't get it to work?

/rant

yes - that's the guide.

It's difficult to do something for the first time because when something has been buggy it's hard to attribute it to any one thing. I did manage to get my original nand back on. Thanks for the help I guess.

"make a cool runner that works"

Nice comment. Here's mine.

"do it correctly and don't blame tools that thousands are using perfectly fine"

We're happy to help but don't blame the tools.

It's not the tools, it's the zephyr. Although I suppose you are right about the tools part too. After all it only took me hours to realize that the 20d drivers didn't work on my v3 when everybody was telling me "use the tools that everyone has been using."

Just a few things to keep in mind, 99.9% of the time your answers are right here and have been gone over time and time again, I'll take hours reading all the posts I can about what I'm researching (learning) and this might take a while but what you will learn is way more than just a quick post for your current problem. Remember NEVER bit the hand that feed you. The people who are replying to your threads are dedicating there time and have passion for this, just look at the amount of posts/reply’s Martin C and Ubergeek have made, it's more than I'll will have made in my life time... probably more, sometimes you will be tested.

Total and utter bullshit

The same nandx drivers released since day one still work the same on v3 code. Where do some of you get this garbage from ?

Not true. I started a thread on this and it was resolved but not by using 20d which is what everyone was telling me to use.
