I've installed a coolrunner flashed with NAND-X into a falcon and when I start the console with either the power or eject button I'm getting no debug LED but the power LED on the console is flashing like it does when there's no DVD drive attached.

I've desoldered all the cables and flashed the nand back to stock and the console boots fine, I then reflashed the coolrunner and reinstalled it and got the same result as last time.

Here's some pics of the install, the cables and soldering aren't looking too great as they've been removed and reinstalled a few times. I'll tidy it all up once I get the thing booting and I know what I'm doing.

Fancy some challenge, use the alternate points from here with the aid of a multimeter and test for continuity between the pads on the coolrunner and the alternate points to test your connections and soldering.

Have you checked if the coolrunner is getting any power?
if not try soldering the 3.3v and Gnd to the programming side of the coolrunner.

I've already checked the ones I can get to without removing the heatsink's, I really don't want to remove the clamps on this board.

Is there anything else I could/should try before I remove the clamps?

The red LED illuminates as soon as the power supply is connected.

Can you paste the log from the ecc_image build?

Also, move your cables on the underside of the console AWAY from the coils - run them nearer the x-clamps if that makes any sense.

This happened to me also. You might try pulling the green wire away from the board and try to boot then. I was getting a bad signal and rerouted my wiring and it solved the problem.

I've just switched the xbox on after putting it all back together and I noticed two things;

1) the fans weren't spinning - sorted this now.

2) Xell Reloaded boots but in black and White.

I did notice R3A2 and C4A1 were not on the board but the pads were tinned, I have replaced these from another Falcon board. The fans are now spinning again (not sure if this has anything to do with adding the cap and resistor) but Xell Reloaded is still black and white.

I've moved the cables a fair bit and this has also not made any difference, does anybody else have any suggestions?

When I boot to the patched dash the colour is fine funnily enough.
