First to tell, I spend on average 2 hours a day just in TX forum. But I am amazed last night learning that while programming coolrunner the switch should be on "NOR" side.

How did I missed that? Is it written somewhere in TX forum under any instruction? Or even this procedure is OK?

Thanks

The position of the switch is dependent on a couple factors. Nor can be used before installation when there is no external power running to cr and to place device in functioning position. Prog side is used for the times after installation when you need to cut the power from the cr for the NAND x to power unit.

As I posted before, I am using a Xilinx Jtag cable for programming which needs external 3.3v supply, I guess.

So, I put the switch to "PROG", connect GND and 3.3V with external power supply of 3.3V and connected my JTAG cable with JTAG points.

But there is no Lights (No red light and no green lights) and iMPACT cannot detect chain or cable.

But as soon, I out the switch to "NOR" both the lights are lit, But i didn't tried programming because it was late night :)

Do, you have any idea of such phenomenon?

Thanks

I had red and green light on mine with the 3.3v supply im too using impact. I had the switch to nor and it programmed ok ie the green light went out when it had been written too. I made the supply with a old DVD cable and used my ck lite to power it. Worked ok for me.

Don't quote me on this, but I think the nor/prog switch cuts off the 3.3v power from the pad, so the Nand-x cable can supply it power instead of the xbox when it's already wired in to the box. So if you supply power to the pad's, and flip the switch to prog, then it cuts off the power from the pad.
