I was having issues programming my coolrunner, and I wanted to rule some things out, so the first thing I wanted to rule out was the power. I have not bought a connectivity kit in a while, I still have the old ck3 lite, but I bought the xilinx jtag cable, which came with a ck3 power cable. When I powered the coolrunner with that and tried to program, it would always fail. I then soldered the 3v3 from the xbox to the 3v3 on the coolrunner, an the GND to the GND. When I plugged in my xbox, the lights on the coolrunner would come on when it was set to NOR, but not PRG, even when I turned it on. I then thought, Hmm, isnt the VCC and GND on the jtag connection for 3v3 and GND? So I soldered the GND to the GND on the jtag connection so that the cable a=could still be connected, and the same for the 3v3 to VCC. When I plugged in the xbox with the wires soldered like that and the coolrunner set to PRG, the lights both immediately turned on. Does this mean the correct voltage is being received? Please reply, thanks.
