I have done heaps of RGH mods with the coolrunner and this is the first one I couldn't get stable for ages.

Wouldn't boot by 1min without cap, so bridged onboard points. Then boots straight up, but will freeze at xell after 30secs or so.

Tried re-routing wires, insulating them etc, but to no avail. Finally I unbridged the cap points, and used one of the blue caps from the rev a packs.

No freezing after 5mins, on a number of boots now. So I think it is solved.

Anyone else experienced this?

If your freezing during Xell that is really not related to the CoolRunner as the CoolRunner has done it's job by glitching and booting Xell so the CoolRunner is no longer effecting the system. However, saying that, I have also found that the on-board cap does not work and using 68NF externally still works better.

Additionally, freezing is usually related to wire placement.

your problem is not the CR - its your wiring
i had the same problem before with 1 console and the problem was that the STBY_CLK point wasnt soldered as strong as it sould (half cold connection with the pad)
