Make sure your iron tip is nice and clean before you start buddy.

I'm fairy OCD with keeping the tip clean. I use a gold pot which has like a flux coated (brass?) mesh. I'll bear that in mind though and douse the bugger in flux too.

Just don't want to be in the position where I break the point completely! I never knew soldering would be this frustrating ;)

First of all, a big thanks for everyone who contributed to my thread. All of you comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I believe I've resolved my problem. I've still yet to resolder my POST_OUT, but I feel this would be a bit of a waste of time currently, as everything seems to be working absolutely fine (be it with the badish connection on that point).

To summarise for anyone who may come across this in the future, I believe the following fixed my issue:

  • Running CPU_RESET topside
  • Re-soldering PLL_BYPASS to make a better connection.
