Where you have the QSB soldered to STBY_CLK may not be making good enough contact. By testing either side of the joint, you'll know if it's good.

it seems to be soldered on the outermost one above r4b25, Can I use the alternate point on the bottom on the board (R2R6) by just desoldering those 2 points and using that instead?

To be honest, there's no point you doing anything else without a meter.
Something is obviously soldered wrong and as you can't provide good enough pics to check your work with or continuity between points, you're fumbling in the dark.
Falcons are the easiest to glitch, so you're doing something seriously wrong here.

ok i have a multimeter now what do I do with the red and black tips? Im really sorry im such a noob at this...

As I said before. Locate the points I suggested (google is your friend) and check for continuity.
If the resistor youre talking about is the one just left of the tip where R4B24 is then there is continuity

check all wires going to their respective points have continuity too. Keep them away from the coils on the top of the board too.
thanks for all the help I got it working last night. it keeps wanting me to format the hard drive every boot though (i only have usb enclosure to use atm) is this normal?

Not sure I follow about the format thing. are you saying you've formatted it on the Xbox and it keeps asking you, or have you formatted it elsewhere first?

will do, could my configuration have something to do with it? its a stock 20gb Xbox HDD but its connected via a sata to hdd enclosure.

I'm wondering if the console is reading the HDDSS.bin on the Xbox HDD and then getting confused with it being connected by USB.
Thats actually a possibility. Ill have to swap it into my HDD chassis and see if that works, im not sure though since I had a normal USB that I was using though.
