Hello everone,

I think that my coolrunner unit does not function correctly.
I've flashed it for a Falcon, this went correct (aka. the green light turned off).

But later i wanted to place it on a other Xbox 360 board, a Zephyr.
But i can't seem to flash the coolrunner to Zephyr for some reason.
Side note: If i connect the update cable to the coolrunner, the coolrunner gets very hot!

When i install it in the zephyr mainboard, i've notised the light on the Power Supply turns red (it should stay orange, since i didn't turn on the xbox.

The red light lights up on the coolrunner but turns off as soon as the light on the Power Supply turns red.

Is my coolrunner broken? If so, how could that have happend?

Best Regards,
Peter vd Berg

Sounds like you bridge a connection. I would take a meter and check all the connections, Or it is possible you lifted a trace or resistor.

these are one time install devices really. if you used the sticky pad i expect when getting the chip out the grip on the pad has lead to bending the chip board and breaking connections. the one chip i have used twice was faulty in the second console too and i know it was a bitch getting it off the av port and thats what borked it.

Thanks for all the replays.
I havent used the stickypad, but i did use another one.
I cant see any bidge connection, although it looks like that is the problem.
Can i measure something on the coolrunner?

And is it even possible to flash it twice?

Best Regards,
Peter

I will call BS. I have one CR that has been installed on multiple boards to retrieve dvd keys and is installed on one of my own systems now with no problems. I would assume none of you have checked your connections with a meter.

It's pretty obvious. At some point you've connected the programmer cable the wrong way and fed 3.3v down the data line. It's now blown. I suggest you take more care with the next one.
