coolrunner update through dos?

hi all just recieved my coolrunner and nand x, fitted it all ok and want to update the coolrunner, it came with a jtag update cable for the serial port , but my pc with serial port the hd is broke, so want to know, can i update it through dos via usb or any other way?. any help would be much appreciated.

thanks for reply mate, i know you can do that, but just wanted to know if i could do it through dos with the cable i have?
