Hi! I'm not quite sure where to post this so I'm trying both the EvoX forum and the General Hardware/Technical Chat.
I've been reading the xbox-live forums and teamxecuter forums for days now, trying to solve my error 13 problem but I can't really find any posts that have helped me so far. I know what the error 13 means, but in short terms I'm not able to run any boot disks on the xbox so that I can access the harddrive.
To help you analyse the problem here's the whole story:
I have an xbox (don't remember which version, think it's a 1.4 or 1.5 but that shouldn't matter) with an xecuter 2.3 chip, the latest xecuter bios and evox dash. As I was going home to my family for christmas I had promised my brother to chip his xbox. Therefore I bought a harddrive in advance and prepared it on my own xbox so that I could just insert it into my brothers when I got home. I copied all the files, including the C and E drive, from my own xbox hdd to my brothers new hdd. I don't remember if I locked his new hdd with my xbox but it's possible (this could therefore be the reason I'm having problems but I'm not sure).
And now I'm back home, having chipped my brothers xbox. It's a version 1.6b (Hynix ram) and the chip is an xecuter 2.6 flashed with the EvoX M8plus_16 bios. Now, with the original harddrive the xbox works just smooth. I haven't installed any dashnoard on it though, but the EvoX logo is showing in the corner and I'm able to run backed up games as well as boot discs like EvoX and Slayers so I'm assuming the chip works fine. When the chip is disabled the MS dash kicks in as it should. But it's when I swap to the new "prepared" harddrive the problems start. The EvoX logo is still there but that's about it. After the splash screen I get error 13 (sometimes error 14 but mostly 13). Now the xbox won't boot from any of the bootdiscs either. If I turn the chip off I get error 6, which should indicate that the harddrive really was locked on my own xbox.
Now, what I would like to know is:
- Is the reason I get these errors that the harddrive probably was locked on another xbox, if so is there a way to unlock the harddrive without that xbox?
- Or is the reason for these errors that the files on the new harddrive are corrupt, if so how can I access it to replace the files?
- Or could it be a conflict since the harddrive was prepared on an older xbox version with a older chip and bios than the xbox it was intended for.
I'm sorry if this was a little too much to read for you guys but I wanted to provide as much information as possible so that you fully understand the problem. I hope there's a solution to this, cause I would hate to format the harddrive with everything that's on it.
