Corona 4gb unformatted

Hey

Corona V4, with rgh, booting fine, and worked fine for the past 6 months. Thing is, now it's storage appears unformatted, and no matter how many time I format it (on the xbox itself), it stays that way. I also can't write nand or updflash on it.

I've seen it happen on several machines, but the format function always worked. Not now.

What is going on?

I think you'll find the eMMC controller has died. It's apparently common.

You might want to consider getting it converted to a 16MB console.

Converting it to 16MB? I didn't even know it was possible. Does it require intalling a 16MB chip in place of the 4GB one?

No - there's a fair amount of rework needed. Where are you located?

Too far from any suitable shop for this. I'll give the bad news to my buddy.

Btw, is this happening because of the rgh, or?

Without seeing the RGH carried out it's impossible to say.

It's known to happen on stock consoles too.
