Detailed Description of the Problem

I'm a n00b here, obviously, but I can't get Xell to boot on my Corona V2. I've double checked the solders and they look fine to me, but pictures are attached. I'm not actually sure I'm flashing with J-Runner correctly, so even if someone wouldn't mind going through that with me or pointing me to a guide. Either way, after reattaching the front I/O board and powering up the xbox, I'm left with 3 blinks from the debug lights and then nothing. Optical port does not activate, and the Xbox can't be found through ip scanning. PWR and GND are good.

Was the console working before you started: Yes, and can be flashed back to stock
Do you get a green debug light appear on the CR4 XL chip every 4-5 seconds: No. The light comes on, but blinks twice before stopping.
How long is the light on for each time: Approx .75 seconds

Try writing the corona_cr4_4gb ecc to your console, and not the standard corona 4gb ecc.

Yeah I saw your pics after I wrote that so deleted it. Try redoing your soldering and shorten the exposed wires so nothing is touching other adjacent points.

The only one I'm worried about is the cpu_rst, but if that was hosed the cr4 wouldn't turn on it's green light?

Do you mean cut the actual wires shorter? or shorten the exposed wire?

Just for kicks I decided to play with the jumper position.

Rightmost setting (0 ohms): greenLight turns on once for about half a second, then turns off. Black screen on A/V RCA output. Steady PWR
Middle setting (100 ohms): No lights, steady PWR
Leftmost setting (10 ohms): Lights both come on, PWR Steady, Debug turns on, off 7 seconds. Alternates on:eek:ff 2sec:1sec 7-8 times then stops. Screen remains black. Optical drive not lit.
IP scan fails. Conclude that Xbox failed to boot, but this seems to be the best setting. Letting it stay on until I change configuration.

Both shorten the actual wires and cut off some of the exposed wire. It's probably just a weak connection on one of those points. Check your ground is good and secure too.

It is most likely because blue and yellow wire are too long. But the 10ohm
setting sounds promising. Do that again after you shorten those wires.

I also see a solder blob on the cr4 connected to a pin. Make sure there is no solder splash's causing a short.
Look at this thread. You might need a postfix adapter. Even though it's a v2 corona.

Alright....So seems I've regressed. Left and right jumpers blink once then nothing. Middle jumper does nothing, light doesn't come on.

Just tried dip switches 2-8 and 3-8, no change.

I don't see the solder blob on the CR4, but I cleaned up my joints again. I'll order the postfix, cause I don't see anything wrong with it. But am I flashing the ECC correctly? Write just the ECC to the nand and then try to boot into Xell?

I don't even know how to check. I also can't find a decent guide for the postfix adapter, which solder points are the mounts? And what actually need to be connected? I don't understand where I've gone wrong, or if I'm even doing this right.

Figured out how to check, didn't need it but I tried anyway. Now I'm not getting a green light at all. And now I've removed the resistors the postfix sits on by accident. Am I now screwed?

Edit: I've now lost the resistors. Yay me. Anyone interested in a repair and mod job?

post a pic up of the resister , the post fix doesn't sit on any of them it sits just in front , if you know you don't need it why try

first are you sure you are seeing your console in jrunner when you click read you should get a square pop up window on the right that shows all your drives connected to your pc , if you leave show all devices unticked it only shows your corona then , if you only see the word physical drive and nothing its not seeing it correctly , unplug your sd card , unplug your power then plug your sd card in then your power , second ,are you sure you have wrote the ECC correctly ,, when you have created your ECC load it in source then click write ,

Okay I've sorted through what you posted, briggs, and heres the scoop. I tried because I didn't understand how to check. I don't have a pic of whatever I broke off the board, but this is what it looks like now.

IMG_20150106_1439541.jpg

I wrote to the console just fine, and saw the drive size. I was able to r/w several times. What I don't understand is what file I should use. I've had people say make my own ECC, and had other say use the ECCs that Team Xecuter has out for the CR4.

all you have to do is click create ecc , then load it in source manually , that's what I done when I had problems , the resisiter should be an easy fix if you can get hold of one , is there 2 missing I can make the bottom one out , where are you if you cant get them il send you some

Those are ceramic capacitors and not resistors, looks like 0603 size.
