  • Console Type: Corona v2
  • NAND Size: 4GB
  • Dashboard version: 2.0.16747.0
  • Was the console working before you started: Y
  • Do you get a green debug light appear on the CR4 XL chip every 4-5 seconds: N
  • Detailed Description of the Problem:

Alright, so this will be my first xbox-360 modding, so bear in mind that I've no doubt I've made a mistake somewhere.
This is a brand new Xbox-360 slim, Corona v2, turned on once to update the dashboard, tested with a game to ensure everything was working fine, then shut down while I waited for the CR4XL to be released.
We did the install initially following the procedure here: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php/147840-CR4-XL-SLIM-Corona-v3-v6-Install-Guide-(RGH2-)
Then realized after the install of the post fix adapter, that I was following the wrong guide (I know, stupid...)
I then stopped and re-read everything I thought I knew, and continued using the correct guide here: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php/147807-CR4-XL-SLIM-Corona-v1-v2-Install-Guide-(RGH2-)
I was afraid I screwed up the install, but upon further reading of the post fix adapter, it appeared unnecessary but acceptable to keep.
I continued the installation and completed without issue, however upon testing, I was unable to get the described results of success. I thought it might have been the FT5R2 as depicted here: http://xecuter.com/cr4/CR4_CORONA_V12_3a.png
but even soldering to that point I was unsuccessful. As as side note, on this part of the installation as well, it is worthy to note while soldering to FT5R2, it had lifted, which I believe I was able to fix. The last picture will look horrific I know...
I'm at the point now however, that I feel after re-soldering a few points multiple times, that before continuing any further, I should consult others with more experience and skill than my own, and see what suggestions you might have.
Another thing to note as well, that during testing (and I'm sure this will be a no brainer for some of you), plugging the pcb in for the power button, having pressed the power button, the system beeps, but there are no lights, and there doesn't seem to be any power getting to the cpu fan.
So there are the facts, and I hope someone might be able to point me in the right direction.
As a side note, I am not opposed to mailing this to a professional for installation/cleanup, but would like to know all the same where I went wrong.

Here are the pics from the soldering install (don't judge me too harshly on the last picture):
Also, you can't see if very well, but I do have a XECUTER CORONA 4GB NAND R/W KIT installed as well beneath the corner of the CR4XL, which is why it's cockeyed.

If you are not getting green debug light, there is something wrong with cpu_rst or post_out wire.
Check If postfix is fitting well. I can't see it well but your burned post_out looks bridged for me. I am on my phone and can't zoom it well.
Try to resolder and use more flux if you are using any
are you using right ecc file for rgh2+ ?

Where do you have connected wires from that corona qsb? It is for 16mb coronas. At least I used that only for 16mb. Try to disconnect that.

C5R11 looks ok. I don't see any bridging. Post_out, however, I'll touch up again tomorrow.
I had taken the postfix adapter out to test, this last time around, and forgot to solder a few points on it (as you can see) before taking the pictures :p So ignore that for now.
I'm using the files from here: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/show...agic-SMC-Files-for-RGH2?highlight=magic+files
and followed the instructions, and don't believe I made any mistakes there... I'll start with the postfix and report back tomorrow if whether or not I made any headway on that.

The wires are plugged in but not going anywhere. I had them sticking out the back just in case. Don't want to have to open the case just to access loose wiring, right? lol

Thanks for your assistance nightmare0!

Everytime i don't get green debug light a change wires and solder again. Works everytime for me. Maybe your problem has something to do with that lifted pad. Why did you closed case when you didn't finished? You may need also little tunning to achieve instant boot

I am not to sure about the beep with no lights I have had this on a trinity before it kinda just fixed itself though I am not sure how but to the point. Well you really need to trim your wires down and use flux! I would definitely check your E point to the CR4 that looks like it is BARELY! hanging on there. I would also check DB2G3 it looks a little burnt and you should trim down some of your exposed wire. Also try resoldering Post to the QSB soldering looks a little funky, Have you used the correct ECC?

Also try taking of the Post Fix and soldering directly to the post because the pin may not be touching and why waste a postfix if you don't have too :)

Nope, no good. I think I narrowed the issue down to being a bad solder point on the Corona 4GB V4 QSB, and I really don't think I'm skilled enough to redo the job without screwing it up. I'm particularly worried about lifting pads on the nand.
Can anyone recommend a modder? I've been looking at nofeloniesyet's work, and seems pretty legit. Definitely/infinitely better than what I can do atm...
What do you think?

Hey Chase, Thanks for posting :)
I actually already tried taking off the postfix right before posting this thread. Didn't take very kindly to me to say the least.
DB2G3 I think is just a bad picture. It looks ok from here, but I can touch it up.
E does look a little wonky. I can redo that one, no problem.

Definitely go with nofelonies if you cannot get it working I have seen some of his work.. Very good! I would say just look at it a last few minutes see if you notice anything out of the blue or even compare it with his work see if there are differences in soldering. Thats how you learn :) definitely though if you cant figure it out and nobody else can help send it off to nofelonies :)

Also it is not a issue with your 4gb QSB that has nothing to do with the glitch cycle.

Does this still boot stock nand? Sorry if I missed that. I had issues with the 4gb R/W QSB on one console once, that one refused to give green light Untill I desoldered it, but as I said it have happened once for me and I have done a few 4gb consoles :)

Upon installing the CR4 the first time, I haven't completely desoldered to see if it can boot stock nand.
I've come to an arrangement with nofeloniesyet, and will be having this done professionally, like I should have to begin with lol.

Thank you all for your assistance nevertheless! I do appreciate the attempt!

I just wanted to follow up on this. I got my Xbox back from NoFeloniesYet last week, and it's working perfectly.
Just wanted to say thanks again to NoFeloniesYet and the rest of you guys for your assistance.

Thanks!

I could be wrong here but the only time I have had this is last week on my first corona 4gb , when I wrote ecc , I tried to boot it I got no debug light and it still booted stock , I tried four times and got the same , only when I loaded the ecc into source then it wrote and booted to xell
