I can read the nand with the tx 4gb v4 rw kit but cannot erase or write to it.Jrunner givs me a cyclic redundancy check error everytime i try to erase or write.It will not update.When i turn the xbox on storage says 1.2gb free.I delete the stuff on the memory and then format it.Then everything i deleted is back and the name changes from harddrive to memoryunit.
Is there anything i can do to fix this xbox?DSCF5676.JPGDSCF5665.JPGDSCF5677.JPGDSCF5678.JPG

I just thought that if i could get it to erase in jr i would be able to write one of the many nand dumps i have.
I also thought about converting the nand image to 16 mb but how can i write the image to the nand. I can only read it in jr and nothing else.
I would like to get this xbox working for rgh. I dont care about using it on live.
I also understand i cant remove old nand and put a 16 mb nand on the board because the flash controllers are different.

Seen this before. converted it to a 16mb console and all was well again.

In the case of a spelling error, I blame Tapatalk.
god i have seen sh*t like this tooooo many times,the physon controlled nands suck,once it gets corrupted somehow,its a goner,unless you convert it to 16mb

Its the controller itself that dies. The memory itself is good still.

Not too hard to fix if you can solder.

You will have to remove that 4gb bga and solder a 16 mb on. The are also quite a few resistors you will have to adjust

In the case of a spelling error, I blame Tapatalk.

Sounds fairly easy. Will a nand from a xenon work? Or should i just purchase a new one?
Could u give me a pic of resistors that need value changed and to what values? I have googled for this info and cant seem to find it.
Only one more question. How will i be able to write to the nand? With the wr kit or nand x?
Thanks in advance

I have the same problem w/mine. Have tried to format the 4gb, delete things from it, but it just reverts back and won't accept the live update so I can't get on live. Wish there was just a way to disable it because I have a 250gb hdd. I would love to get some help either disabling it (doesn't seem possible) or replacing it. The unit is only 5 months old but was refurbed so they won't take it back. Just opened it up for the first time last night and don't know wtf to do!

Ive never seen this issue before. Is it common for the controller to stuff up?
I hope I dont get any like this in. Just makes the job a pain in the ass then

pretty common unfortunatley,seen it on old and brand new slims.only solution we have found is to convert it to 16mb nand.isnt hard if you possess the skills to do it :)

jsinger this right
You can also make the switch from BGA nand
I have some scraps v4 here and did this test
using other bga 4GB nand works perfectly and will still be a v4
If you're really convert to 16MB
Here's the list of components to be removed and added

- Component to be removed from the top of the board :
R1D3= 22 OHM

R1D4= 10 K (Tip: You can use the position R1E4)

R1D5= 22 OHM

R1D6= 22 OHM

R1D7= 22 OHM

R1D8= 22 OHM

R2D1= 22 OHM

R2D2= 22 OHM

R2D3= 22 OHM

R2D4= 22 OHM

U1E3= NAND 4GB (BGA)

- Component to be removed from the bottom of the plate :

R1R1= 1 K

R2R2= 50 K

R1R3= 50 K

R1R4= 50 K

R1R5= 50 K

R1R6= 50 K

R1R7= 50 K

R1R8= 50 K

R1R9= 50 K

R1R10= 22 R

C1T2= 4.7 uf (Tip: You can use the position C2T4)

C1T3= 0.82 uf

C1T4= 100 nf (Tip: You can use the position C1E18)

C1T5= 4.7 Uf

C1T6= 100 nf (Tip: You can use the position C2E9)

+ ADD

+ Component to be installed on top of the card :

R1D3= 0 OHM

R1D5= 0 OHM

R1D6= 0 OHM

R1D7= 0 OHM

R1D8= 0 OHM

R2D1= 0 OHM

R2D2= 0 OHM

R2D3= 0 OHM

R2D4= 0 OHM

R1E4= 10 K (see R 1d4)

R1E8= 10 K

U1E2= NAND 16 MB

C1E18= 100 nf (see C1T4)

C2E9= 100 nf (see C1T6)

+ Component to be installed on the bottom plate:

R1R10= 0 OHM

Replace the nand also works
For this you will need a machine rework

i'm pretty sure i have a 360e here with an erased/corrupt nand that will no longer detect. i have a few things to try before i convert it but its an exact match to the ops board only its dead as the dodo. great thread in my situation so just wanted to thank everyone who's been involved as it will help me either trace or fix my issue. i'll report back here what i find with this one once i get time to do it.
