Looks like you have a solder bridge on a couple of QSB points there near the DB1D marking on the motherboard. I would also hazard a guess that your iron is not hot enough, or you aren't holding it long enough which is why all your solder has little points coming off.

If you have a soldering iron with a digital temp then set it to 320-340 C. Make sure it is clean and add a little flux to the tip. Flux the bridge and reflow the points. With any luck, you'll clear the bridge and the extra solder will transfer to the iron.

I found that those points particularly bridged When verifying the diagram. I am going to start over. I bought a brand new soldering station from ebay and it crapped out on me within 3o min...

Can anyone suggest a good soldering station for about 100.00?

I DO NOT recommend removing the QSB if that's what you mean by starting over. You're likely to cause damage to the solder pads. If that happens then your consoles will not power on until the damage is repaired.

I would suggest to stop doing what you are doing now cause you will damage motherboard for sure. Just give it to pro modder and he will do what has to be done untill its not too late.

I second frayed's recommendation for the Hakko soldering station, but if you are cash strapped, google yihua 936 and look for it from a large hobby store. Less than $20 when it stock. Find some old electronics board and practice soldering on that, use good flux, keep the tip tinned and once your comfortable go at the QSB again. Don't try and remove it, just clean it up. Or go with a reputable modder here to have it done for you.

I'd even suggest that you practice on something simple such as soldering wires together and learning to "flow" solder before soldering on junk boards.

don't flame me down here guys but , correct me if I am wrong but I know the soldering is crap , I only use a cheap iron but its almost perfect because of practice, but i was thinking , the 2 points that are bridged , arnt they bridged when you solder the qsb anyway because they go to the same point on the qsb , what i mean is there is one trace on the qsb going to those 2 points therefor they are bridged anyway , but case in point his soldering is still crap

Yes, you are right. Second and third bottom pads prom left side are bridged. My nand reads are correct every time.

What you talkin bout willis. You still have vip
Somehow I bet if I was to advertise anything I'd be nailed because I don't have a "VIP" banner. That was obviously removed intentionally. Maybe I'm just a little bitter about what happened or maybe I just know to well about the way things work. Notice frayed no longer has his banner anymore either.
