Description of problem: My wifes cousin installed a demon & slim proto v2 and got it booting xell and xebuild img, I'm not sure what happened but it stopped booting and 2-3sec after you press
the power button it turns itself off (No error led and no power to the fan). The only thing currently installed on the motherboard now is the Corona Demon QSB, JR Prog v2 Wires & Slim Proto v2 (Not Wired)

Was the console working before you started: Yes

Do you get a green debug light appear on the RGH chip every 4-5 seconds: N/A

How long is the light on for each time: N/A

If you watch the video do you think it has a short (bridge) somehere??

In the pic below is there supposed to be a cap where I have it marked on the corona v5?? I don't have another one on hand to compare.

he screwed something up, i'm trying to get it to boot the orig nand img. I don't need anything wired until i get it booting stock again.

after he had the issues i removed the wires from slim proto v2 and used Chip Quik to make the Demon removal easy..

Update: I have now used chip quik to also remove the corona demon qsb. just trying to get it booting stock nand for now.

Does anyone have a pic of the top of a corona v5 motherboard so I can compare and see if he accidently removed a resistor or cap in the area where the v3 qsb goes? I sold the v5 that my son fixed up so nothing to compare to.

you need to post pic of your demon removel mate before we can help
It was doing this before the demon was removed but here is your pic. If you need anything else just ask.

Also If my pics are to big just let me know, just want to make sure you guys can see everything good.

And I know it needs a good cleaning when I'm finished. :)

I was hoping some one some good v5 pics I could compare to..

Unfortunately this is like trying to ascertain the cause of blame of an accident after all the evidence has been cleaned up. If the console is just turning itself off (with no error) it's possibly a southbridge related issue. I guess you could try reflowing/reballing/replacing it.

Ok , I got a huge magnifying glass and found a loose cap stuch to another cap just to the left of the cpu/gpu.

Does anyone have a high res pic of the top and bottom of a corona v5 motherboard so I can try to figure out where it goes..

The term 'needle in a haystack' springs to mind.

Does the southbridge get hot?

Have you checked the resettable fuses when it powers off?
Nothing on the motherboard gets hot when I power it on & I'm not sure where the resettable fuses are on a corona v5. Do you know the location??

So far I have found 4 resettable fuses (RT) on the top side and 2 on the bottom side and all have continuity when i press power and when It powers off.

Does it turn off immediately, even without the RF board disconnected?
here is a video that shows how it turns off and the led on rf board & power supply.

I took the rf board out and tried to use a wired controller to boot the console and the led on the plug & play cord does not come on, so all the usb ports are not getting power. I tested the cord on another console to verify it was good..
